Southsea parkrun in a westerly gale. To the turning point (going east) 11'51", best for a year; coming back (going west) 14'53", worst for 2 years! Could do without that wind come the Great South Run in October

Wowsers UTS! Yes let’s pleeeeeeeeease not have similar conditions in October! They might need to extend the cut-off time for some of us (me) otherwise! 😅😅
Well done braving it today. 👊🏃
I did ours this morning and was treated to a buffeting side wind on the hill! I quite enjoyed it as it was cutting through the humidity. We had a monster turnout because Ashton Court wasn’t on today due to the Balloon Fiesta being held there. Not ideal for balloons this weekend unfortunately, such a shame. 💨🎈
No I thought they’d cancelled it cheekychipmunks.
Not cancelled as such, as there are plenty of other attractions laid on, but no flights. They were able to do the mass ascent on Thursday morning and I went up on the Common to watch. 50+ balloons were up - amazing! ❤️🎈
They’re doing a “naked night glow” this evening - usually all the balloons are tethered and they fire up their flames which looks stunning after dark. Today, just the baskets, no balloons apparently! 🔥
But at least you were one of the 250 odd to face the gales. Exhilarating on that return leg!

Oh I so hate when the head wind is the second half not the first! How come it’s always that way around?! Well done!
Gosh..that is a difference..windy here..but not affecting me that much..It will be calm in October..definitely 😉
Make speed while the wind blows!
What a difference the weather can make UTS! 💨🏃🏻Although personally, I'd be happy with the 'slow' split too!😉
