Hi. I ran 5km two days ago and was planning to run 4km this evening followed by 9km on Saturday. However I spent all day uniform shopping and by the time I came home, all I wanted was that nice plate of pasta and a glass of wine.
Although I wouldn’t make this a habit, would it be ok to run 4 tomorrow and 9 the next day? I just feel really bad that I didn’t go tonight. This is the first time since starting JuJu’s plan that I have missed a run 😔

As you know it's not a good idea to run on consecutive days, however, that really only applies to new runners doing C25K and not having yet ran a 5K, but as you are no longer a new runner and have not only graduated from C25K but also I notice the word GRADUATE 10 you could run on consecutive days, but be careful.
I trained on consecutive days preparing for my 10k race, but it was sprints/hills on one day, and a VERY easy 20 minute recovery run the next.. if It felt risky I went swimming instead. Al's right, you're more experienced now so you know what you're capable of.. but I don't run the day before or after a long run.
You're not going to lose anything from doing that, that 9K is the important run and you'll be well prepared for it. You could even try and give yourself an extra push in that last kilometre, if you feel like you've got a bit more in the tank.
The advice on here is not to run on consecutive days until you’ve been running at least a year snailspeed. When you run , it makes micro tears in your muscles and it’s really important to have the rest day to allow these to repair. juju’s plan is flexible to allow extra days between runs so don’t worry. You can still do the long one on Saturday when you have more time. Have fun. 🐌
When I injured my calf, I was advised to rest for 4 weeks. Made me slightly panicky as I had signed up to run in a relay team for a marathon.
My trainer advised me to wait until the week before, and I could run each day. BUT only to run 1 easy mile. Just to get miles into my legs and preserve my recovery. That worked. It was SOOO tempting to run further, but glad I stuck to it. (Mile 4 and 5 of the relay was brutal though)!
In general a year, or more, of running is recommended before going back to back days... and even then I’d be gentle at first. If I had to do those two runs on consecutive days I’d do the 9k first for sure... but my preference would be not to have my long run on either of them.
