Hi all. Can someone explain exactly what consolidation runs actually are or should be, please? I recently graduated and am not sure what to do next. I ran a 5K as my first run after W9R3 but would like some ideas as to what else to do. Thanks
Consolidation???: Hi all. Can someone explain... - Bridge to 10K
Consolidation???
After a period of progressive training, building up speed or distance (or both), it's good to consolidate those gains for a while. Let your body get used to doing 30 minute runs for a while before starting to train for further gains in performance.
Just enjoy running for a while. How you do it is up to you. You can just run three times a week for a couple of weeks. Some folks just repeat week 9 for a while.
Firstly, congrats for completing the programme - that is ACE!! Go you!!
Consolidation runs are normally simply running W9R3 three times a week for a few weeks, so maintaining progress.
When you've done that and feel confident, you might want to check out the Bridge to 10k forum on here for some more ideas? And the post-C25k pod casts are quite good too... it really depends what you want to do next... the world is your oyster as they say!
There’s a pinned post to the right of the screen about what next 😃👍
Hi, well done you 🥇you could always have a go at a Park Run if there’s one nearby. It’s free all you have to do is register.
