Yes I’ve done it!

After consolidating my 5K runs for a while after graduating in April, it got to the stage where I could run them in my sleep, recovered very quickly and had no aches or pains afterwards, so realised it was time to start the bridge.

Had a couple of runs and got to 7.5K then last week 8K and was quite happy to plan to increase gradually, when horrors of horrors My Daughter, who was motivated to join C25K by my prowess, went out for a run on Sunday aiming to match my 8K kept going and completed her 10K.

So a change to my running plan I set out this morning to aiming for the 10K and yes I did it in 67.50, 4 minutes quicker than my daughter! LOL!

What a fantastic feeling! I think I am now just going to consolidate here and use my improved stamina to try and PB my 5K’sand 10K’s for a while! Couldn’t possibly be thinking about aiming for 10miles yet!...... Could I?

WOW - what fantastic times you've got! - you are really going for it!!! - and well done on that little 4 minute victory against your daughters time. Looks like you may have a great future running together...

The thought of 10K or 10 miles terrifies me... I'm very happy playing around 5K!

Thank You! If you are happy doing 5K’s then that great! As I said I was for a while then realised I was ready for more! Be prepared! Running is addictive and 10K may be calling you sooner than you think! LOL

Congratulations, it's good to have that competitive instinct in both you and your daughter, well done to both of you, your daughter will now want to run a 10K in around 65 minutes, nice that you achieved a sub 30 minute 5k on that run.

You can tell the administrators that you have ran a 10K, the word Graduate10 will then appear next to your username.

Wow, look at those excellent times Chris! Well done on your 10k - nothing like a bit of competition to get those legs moving! 😅👍👊🎉

I can safely predict you’ll want to go for 10 miles! Not just yet, take a while to consolidate and build up slowly, but if you’re part of the “oh it’s ok, I don’t want to run more than 10k” brigade, I don’t believe you! I was one, so are lots of my VRBs, and we’ve all either run 10 miles since, or are on the way there. You might prove me wrong - but I doubt it! 😅😅😅

Great running Chris. 👏👏👏

Congratulations. They are very respectable times! I have the same fridge magnet but my numbers aren't as impressive.

I think consolidating is a good idea - keep yourself on the right side of injury. :)

Thnks! I know! I think it was your pic of your magnet that made me look for it! Got one for me and a more girly one for my daughter!
