Hopefully I would be a C25K graduate in a week. What should I do to start run on the mountains for 10Kms?
I am thinking to follow ju ju's training plan and at the beginning to run on trails the short of the weekly 3 runs, then add the second and by the end "upgrade" and the last but long run
I have never try trail running before

It’s a good idea to ease gradually into a different running ground. That way your legs and body can get used to the uneven surface. Your approach sounds good.
If it’s very “trailey” then specific trail shoes would be a good idea as they give you better grip and stability. But if the ground is dry then you should be ok in your usual running shoes to begin with.
It goes without saying that the steeper the mountains the harder it will be but they’ll make you a much stronger runner at the end of the day.
Take it gently, run very slowly and enjoy it all 🙂
I would also add that after you graduate you should consolidate for a while (several weeks) just running for 30 minutes and get into a routine before starting the trail/10K work.
A new Magic Plan will start towards the end of next month, so you will have time to practice your 30 minute runs before then.
And you are correct, the only way to get used to running on trails is by running on trails 😊 And your gradual approach sounds like a good plan.
I love running on hilly trails - there's nothing like that feeling when you get to the top and take in the view!! Why do you want to run on mountains in particular?
Ha, sorry - I thought one of the other comments had mentioned it! I must be going nuts 😊
Ju-Ju's Magic Running Plan is a C25K - 10K 8 week training plan that we run here regularly. We're in the middle of one at the moment, and the next one should start towards the end of August.
Thanks for the reply roseabi! I know about ju ju plan, I don't know how the group works. We ll just share how our progress are ? Or something else or more?
