W1R3 didn’t go according to plan

Set off for my run this morning n all was going well. Managed to convince my legs that we didn’t need to hare off at high speed (for me anyway 😂) n settled into a steady pace.

However, I had to slow to almost a standstill to get through the gate to the nature reserve cos of the old guy in front of me, who then decided this was an appropriate moment to tell me all about his wife dying 😢. The poor old fella was obviously very sad n just needed someone to talk to so I ended up listening for a few minutes before getting back on my way.

Unfortunately this completely threw off my time so I had to add a few minutes on to get my 35 minutes of running done. Luckily it went much better than the last 3 runs, apart from the copious amounts of sweat running down my face 🥵. Onwards to Week 2! 🏃‍♀️

Yeah, what is it with the amount of sweat, I think today was one for the record books for me too.

Well done on finishing week 1, with a good run and a good heart ❤

Thanks! I think the sweat’s cos of the humidity, I’ve definitely done less sweaty runs in the same kind of temperatures 🥵

And not what you set out to do but bless you for listening to the widower. You have probably made his day a little bit easier 😍

It definitely is! I found a sweat index on my weather app so I’m sure I’ll find out how useful it is lol. I really felt for the poor man, I guess he must’ve been really lonely 😔

At least you did your good deed for the day. Poor man, you probably made his day just stopping to listen.

It is sticky out there atn and I’m the same on every run and in bed 😉

Good for you- heading to week 2 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Yes I did feel for him, poor man 😔

I sleep with the fan on so I’m ok in bed. Could do with one that hovers just in front of me when I’m running 😂😂

Sounds like a good run Jill albeit a sweaty one ! What is it with all this humidity 😅

Awww bet you made his day talking to him and sometimes we don’t realise how much it means to them just to stop and have a little chat !

Your good deed for the day....(I talk to everyone whether they want to or not so OH says) 🤐

Good luck for Week 2 !

It was definitely an improvement on the last 3 lol. I’m hoping the promised storms will ease the humidity 🤞

Cheers and good luck to you too!

aww well done SeeJillRun, you probably cheered that poor man up with those few minutes of kindness and although it spoilt your pace you persevered inspite of the humidity 🙌😊

Great you got to do your run even with a stop in between. But I bet you made that old man's day just listening to him . Well done you 😊😊

Well done you and the karma for listening was that the rest of the run was easier.
