We’re starting to head back north towards the soggy swamp that used to be England, but have stopped off for a couple of nights in Royan on the west coast of France on the way. Took Ben for a walk when we arrived yesterday and I thought this would make a good run. I left OH drinking his tea, put on my running gear and set off towards the harbour alongside sandy beaches and rocky cliffs. 3.5k each way at a steady pace, stopping for a couple of photos. Lovely 😊
Seaside pootle!: We’re starting to head back... - Bridge to 10K
Seaside pootle!
Lovely post. Glad Royan is back in shape after the battering it got (last week I think). We start the long drive back July 1st but I’m leaving my second best running shoes here so there’ll be a break in the normal routine until Parkrun 7th July.
Where are you travelling from HeavyFoot ? I had an email from parkrun saying that they miss me, so I’ll be back next week, hopefully being a tourist with TheOldFellow in Keswick!
From south of Perpignan. A bit of planning needed especially with a largish dog.
who is looking forward to it....
Depending on where in England you are heading it’s brightened up a bit -2 lovely sunny days so far in Devon and today looks set for another one. Not too hot but warm enough to walk about without a cardigan and lovely for running
Lovely Sandie! Look forward to seeing you at Leamington in a couple of weeks! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
I have my final holiday 5k planned for tomorrow morning. Isn’t it fun being able to run on hols? 😀🏃♀️👍
Oh that does look lovely Sandie. Have you been swimming there too? Have a great drive home. I think Lincolnshire suffered flooding while you were away so you timed your trip well.💦💦💦💦💦
Agree with you about the Atlantic; the water is freezing here on Scilly. The intrepid/ crazy Mrs Beachcomber went in for a dip the other day, but not for very long. You really need a wet suit at this time of year, and even then it feels horrible as the cold water seeps inside! On the other hand the weather has been lovely. There is a bit of chill in the wind, but it is easy to find hot sheltered spots. Perfect conditions for running and long walks. Hope you don't find too much mud when you get home; awful for people ☔️
Sounds lovely Sandie. I can smell the sea from here 🙂
