I'm really sorry to post this sort of post. Does any one else suffer with the about? I'm really struggling, I've looked at sites and taken notes, but nothing seems to help. I run at 5 in the morning and don't eat before hand. Any helpful advise would be great. It's really starting to get me down now.

So, so many folk... famously, Paula Radcliffe:)

If you have read links and advice etc and no regime is helping, then the only thing is to maybe get a check up with the GP.... or take medication. Admin hat now-) But as we aren't experts .. you would need advice on the wisdom of that before all runs!

womensrunning.com/2015/07/n...

( Non Admin hat) But, maybe you are in a cycle now... you have got this in your head and maybe are worrying subconsciously all the time.. I have had one wild wee in nearly four years of running.. and that was a few months ago... and after that I did have couple of runs where I wondered if it would happen again...but it hasn't. Fortunately I live and run near and on fields and tracks:)

So..if you are sorting what you eat and your hydration before the runs..maybe just a few very, very short near home ones.. getting further each time...If you are in the town .. routes past a loo... ( supermarket ones even)..build it up? Otherwise.. if you can find a filed with some high hedges or bushes.. a bag with wet wipes etc... and embrace nature. I had a field full of cows and a lot of daffodils...

Hope it sorts for you....:)

Thanks, I'm not going to give up. But it's really frustrating.

I don’t go until I’ve gone, if you see what I mean .... which for me means getting up 2 hours in advance ☹️ and kick-starting my system with fruit juice.

Agree. Not that i run early but if I'm riding early I have to allow time for nature to take it's course.

Apparently doing squats helps activate the system too 🤷‍♀️

Runners are notoriously prone to this as it’s all that jiggling around!

As you’re getting up so early it is probably your system waking up and nature kicking in. You’ll probably need to experiment with what you eat the night before and perhaps eating earlier to give the food a chance to get through your system.

Could you perhaps grab a cup of strong coffee as soon as you get up to trigger an earlier visit to the loo?

Sorry I can’t be more helpful but worrying probably make it worse. It’s a totally natural occurrence so if the worst happens then so what? We all do it. I had to jump into some bushes once and I was dressed in really bright colours so could be seen easily. Just think of Paula Radcliffe. At least if it happens to us we don’t have it filmed across the world 😱

Avoiding any caffeine - tea or coffee is making a big difference, but it is hit and miss when it strikes. I have either nothing, or just bananas for breakfast, and keep hydrated with water, but it is a problem yet to be completely eliminated.

Sorry to hear you’re going through this, I’ve had this a couple of times and have to head home immediately, it’s awful!

Have you tried running on an evening when you may have already gone to the loo?

Could it be that it’s just your body clock wanting to go at that time every day ? Would you go at that time on a non running day?

Try not to worry as this may make it worse and it might be worth discussing with your GP.

Hope you get it sorted x

I'm still very self conscious while running so won't run in an evening while the kids are out, when I'm out in the morning theres none around. As for non running days....nothing! Lol. Spoke to a pharmacist yesterday, going to try immodium before I run and another one on the run if I get the urge. Park run tomorrow. Little later in the day...will see what happens 🤞
