Interesting. Was the difference the same and with the same phone ie the phone that showed longer was still longer or was the person that showed a longer run still longer? I'm not sure if it matters, but how do you hold your phones while running? In a running belt or in your hand? My Garmin and Runkeeper rarely agree and the discrepancy can be a few hundred metered but if I'm running a specific distance, I try to be consistent and use my Runkeeper, to log all my runs although likely my Garmin is most likely most accurate.
Both of us wear a running belt and have phone on left hip. I have to do this because my right hip is ceramic.
My phone which recorded the longest distance last time recorded the longest distance again by 0.3 mile my phone said we were moving for 3 mins 10 seconds longer and my phone had the slower pace too. Which with all of the above I would expect. My friend was carrying my phone and is a faster runner than me at club.
So next time she is going to carry both phones and see what happens.
I’m not bothered as long as I enjoy my run but it is a little concerning when running clubs rely on them for their club competition runs etc and to assign you to a group.
