Hurt my back on London to Brighton bike ride last year and had to walk the final leg of my 15th successive London Triathlon a few weeks later. Restarted running a few months ago with Couch to 5k. All was going smoothly and then I started bridge to 10k and trouble began. Worst of all are the tired and aching legs. My legs are usually very strong and heavily used in all 3 disciplines. They have never hurt or felt like lead as they do now. I've built up carefully and slowly so why the tired aching legs all of a sudden? Any help out there please? I am 3 weeks short of my first 10k in ages and 8 weeks short of my next triathlon. Bike and swim are fine.

heavy legs
Didn't want this to affect the responses but guess I should own up to being a very active 61 year old. Didn't want it to affect responses because age couldn't suddenly hit so hard when I've been a marathon runner and distance swimmer and biker all my life, could it? And just hit the legs?
I don’t really have the knowledge to answer, but I can’t imagine your age is going to make a sudden change with all of your experience. Might it be linked to the back injury - & worth seeing a sports physio?? ( I wondered because I have been having a lot of leg pain recently following a minor back injury.) Good luck getting sorted. 😃
Thank you, Elfe5.
Am seeing osteopath next week. She's been opposed to my running since last year, but I am wedded to tri and would be miserable without it. Leaving marathon running depressed me for ages but tri made up for it. I can't imagine a life without swim bike and run.
Your idea of a sports physio seems a better one. Someone who understands the need to move is more likely to come up with a solution.
