Well how much fun was that? Putting faces to the names of TailChaser , Katnap , Kitten1, Kitten2, Dexy5 , UpTheStanley (nice hat, great idea! π π), Sandie1961 (and lovely hubby) and PR newbie Wimborne ! You guys are amazing, and we got on like a house on fire. I mean, driving for 2 hours to run round an unknown park with people youβve never met before? Really? Well yes actually, and I canβt wait to do it again! β€οΈ
Iβve now got the VRB tourism bug - where next?
Southampton Common parkrun was a lovely one, the course beautifully described by UTS in a different post. Loads of runners, well organised, a nice course - and a cafe with coffee and cake.
My time? Garmin 35.46, PR official time 35.52. Iβm now consistently under 36 minutes, yay! π
Happy running friends, until next time - with more VRBs too perhaps? ππ

We are definitely up for another meet if the place and date fits. So lovely to meet you and thank you for driving down from Bristol. I think you were probably right to leave your dog behind this time.
We had the best time CP2. It was like weβd known each other for years. Weβre looking forward to the next one! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈππ
It really didnβt disappoint. I canβt wait for the next one - although finding a convenient location could be tricky when we all live so far apart. Still, sounds like a good excuse to get the van out and head south again xx
Aw I had to put family first this morning (actually the cat) who decided to get a cyst under her tail! The labradors were laughing until I pointed out theyβve got their boosters next week.
Please keep me in the loop re the next meet and (hopefully) I can join everyone then.
Aww your poor cat. Hope sheβs ok. β€οΈπ€How many Labs do you have? I usually run with mine but decided against taking her today. Good thing really as there were nearly 1,000 runners! π³ππββοΈππ
I have 2 but have found them a hindrance when running. Theyβre wanting to stop n sniff the messages left by other dogs π. Ainβt nobody got time fer that!!!
Ahh I know what you mean. I run with mine and thank my lucky stars how good she is - maybe being a girl mean less sniffing on the lead? Some people I see at parkrun are constantly stopping for their dogs! ππ
Fabulous! What fun. Always great to meet running buddies. Well done everyone for getting there. I was last sent to Gloucester on a Tue so couldn't tie it in with a Parkrun π§. I might have to find another excuse for travelling south...
πππ If ever a post to get me to ParkRun, this (and all the linked posts) is the bunch. ππΌββοΈπ And you were so near my βhomeβ territory of New Forest. And I am in High Wycombe for a family event agreed since Christmas. Oh well. All your reports and pictures spur me on to keep trotting so Iβll be able to join in someday. ππ’ Well done, all of you!!! And thanks for all the lovely reports and pictures. (Donβt know if I could cope with 1000 runners unless I had a known sub-group, π±)
Oh my word weβd love to have you join us soon Granspeed! Weβre already thinking about it .... it really was the best fun and all our personalities matched with our online ones so it felt like weβd known each other for ever! ππββοΈππ
And I agree about running in a sub-group (not that I did as I was the π of the group, as expected!) We met up in the barcodes queue afterwards then headed for the cafe. What a fantastic way to spend a morning! β€οΈ
Oh well, I would be the tail of the snail so would never expect to be waited for! But the gorgeous meet up with the coffee afterwards would really spur me on. Someday..... Meanwhile keep posting βcause itβs such fun to read. ππΌπ
Aww, another lovely photo! I'm feeling the love ! π Good news on the time too cheeky! I forgot to stop my watch on Saturday, so can't compare to the parkrun time of 36.something, but I was first in category -out of two πΆ heheh)
Thanks GOG, I seemed to have cracked sub 36 parkrun times now, with a sub 35 a couple of weeks ago. Now to work on making that consistent and heading for sub 34 hopefully!
I know how easy it is to not start or stop your watch. Really annoying isnβt it?! But hey, 1st in your age category was good no matter how many were in it! ππββοΈπ
