Look what arrived in the mail today 😁

Yippee! Look what arrived in the mail today! A buff impregnated with insect repellant to help repel ticks and mosquitos (and other pesky insects!). I love my trails but hate the ticks. I was researching permethrin impregnated clothing (unfortunately I only found hiking gear which didn't seem run friendly in our hot summers) when I found this buff. I'll still need to use lots of DEET on my legs and arms and clothing but can at least avoid my face and neck now. I was in need of a new summer running buff anyways so am really glad I found this. My trail running partner also texted me yesterday that she was able to do a couple of short little running intervals without any knee pain. Double Yippee!!! I'm one step closer to hitting my trails!

The other object in the picture is a race belt so I can stop poking holes in my run shirts and jacket on race day (I needed to spend a tiny bit more for free shipping and wanted this product anyways so it was a win-win 😁).

Bring on the trails!

Very nice Sask - that will come in very handy where you are. And the belt is a nice bonus too :)

Great idea Saska, I remember that ticks are a problem on your trails so this gives you one less thing to worry about 🙂

Nice buff! Great idea Allie. Get well soon😚xx

Oh Saskie , sorry to hear you are still under the weather. Have you taken up internet shopping while lying about on the couch ?? Does your buff smell strongly of deet ? It’ll be worth it, if it keeps ticks, flies and stinging beasties away. Get well soon

I wish I've been laid up on the couch getting over this cold but work has been so busy and I've been on call so it has been 15 hour days while battling this nasty cold. Thank goodness for Tylenol Cold Daytime and Tylenol Cold Nighttime! It is what has allowed me to get through this week. One more day of work and one more night on call then I get the weekend off! Yippee!

Surprisingly there is no odor to the buff at all. It is actually infused with permethrin. i really hope it works. The reviews were good and I needed a new buff anyway so might as well choose one that might help with the nasty creepy crawlies. I chose the light colour to be able to see the ticks better than the other blue patterned one that was available. My new compression socks are patterned so won't be as easy to see the ticks on as my old white knee high basketball socks I wore the last 2 years 😂🤓. I am quite the sight out running in the isolation of my trails 😂.

It looks like your face will be covered as much in summer as it was in winter SaskAlliecat. I don’t blame you though, insects seem to go for me too 🦟
