I got up this morning and decided, on impulse, to go to Parkrun! 5k will shift some cobwebs and running amongst others would keep me going, given my off/on running schedule!

Runners ❌......⁉️= No Parkrun! (Explains that previous ✅😂)
So, it’s a run my way! Another impromptu adventure! 😆 The current title of this post is far too mystical! I should have given this post the title, “Fabulous Tales of the Unprepared”! 😂😉! However, lots of things in life don’t go to plan.
It was quite hard to get into the zone, after trying to avoid a big puddle on the trail, but finding my shoes filled up by water from the pool disguised in the grass 🥴. I was lapped by a couple of runners too. Actually it felt like I was lapped by every runner out there this morning. 🤔 Maybe, I wasn’t the only one who thought Parkrun was on today. Still, I did get into the zone in the end! It was a slow run and despite the heavy winds blowing sideways, I got the headspace I wanted.
The feeling of satisfaction is now kicking in. I’m not comparing this run with any other, because every run is so different. This is certainly my first muddy run! I’m not sure I’ll be able to save the socks! 😂 But run I did! Time for a hot shower! 🚿 That will do until another day! 😁!

You are a brave soul Fabulous. That wind is pretty fierce. Of all the days to get out there too! Hope your feet dry out soon and save those socks. Poor things deserve a second run at least 😂
😂 thanks so much Wimborne! Couldn’t allow my impromptu effort to go to waste! Feet are now fresh from a nice hot shower! Socks?.....I’m not holding much hope for them! 🤣❤️

Why no parkrun? The wind maybe? You laugh in the face of wind! 💨💨💨 Ours was on, and I did ok today. Our wind helped us up the hill a bit - but hampered the lovely freewheeling down again. Oh well ....... But Fab, we ran! 👏👏👏
Hi Cheeky! I’ve looked now ☺️ and it was due to Canicross using the park. I don’t even know what that is 😂! The wind was sideways on all the way, so no such luck with the extra push! 🙄! But hey, I had still had my own personal Parkrun! 😍❤️

Canicross is cross country running with your dog(s). I think you can run with two. 🏃♀️🐕 🐕 . But I think it’s pretty hardcore, so my dog and I are happy pootling round parkrun! 😀
Oh, I am very well practised at the muddy ones, as the trails are where I love to run ( luckily I have a downstairs shower and don't have to get in a car afterwards!). The more muddy I return home, the better the run! 😀

Hats off to you! I can’t bring myself to run in this weather. My local Parkrun had driving rain and 52mph winds this morning, and if I run along the prom at home I chance loosing the skin off of my face as the wind and sandy beaches really are a deadly combination at the moment.

Ah! Sorry Fabulous- should have messaged you - there was Cani-cross yesterday so Parkrun was cancelled. It’s been mentioned regularly at briefings and on the FB page but shame we missed each other! I’m wondering what to do for a long run today - working this morning/lunchtime but got the afternoon to put some miles on the legs 🤔
Yes- I was wondering about going around the Cotswold water park lakes. Usually do 11km on Saturday inc Parkrun so want to try a similar distance close to home but a bit of a different route to freshen up the brain a bit 🤣
Ah Equi no worries, it doesn’t matter. I got to run and if I knew that it wasn’t on, who knows if I would have gone out at all! I’m definitely ok with the unexpected. 😂😂! I hope you found a lovely place to run. I love Coate Water Park and would recommend it! ❤️
