Reflective Gear Advice pls

Hi

I feel a little guilty posting in here as i've not graduated C25K but think you lovely guys will have more extensive knowledge on stuff :)

I'm looking at purchasing some reflective gear for evening running. I like the look of the proviz jacket but cannot justify the spend. So am think of a reflective baseball cap as I always run in a cap anyway.

The Proviz Reflect360 cap looks good and very reflective in the pictures. The other one I have seen is the Addidas Run Reflective. I like the idea that the whole cap is reflective rather than parts of it. I've only seen them online and not in the flesh so wondering if any forum users have first hand knowledge of these makes or anything similar.

I already have a reflective and hiviz tabbard but it just annoys me :)

thanks peeps

x

There are proviz copies... Go to Halfords bike section. The Boardman brand do a jacket with removable sleeves so you can wear it like a vest / gillet

I would also go for something on your arms, maybe even ankles. other road users recognise the movement as being a runner. Aldi had flashing armbands...99p a pair.

Also you may wish to consider a chest torch but that will depend where you are running. The one I use has a light on chest and red light mid back. Very light weight.

I don't have much experience, but I'd say that a reflective cap is not sufficient. A jacket, tabbard or gilet should be the minimum, as you want as much reflective area as possible.

Karrimor from SD has a reflective running range Not expensive either

I look for the word “reflective” and look for reflective flashes on shoes and clothing as you wanna be seen from Mars 😃. Most of my run tights have reflective bits all over My Aldi cap and jacket have lots of reflective bits and the cap even has a light on the brim

You don’t need pay much for this gear 👍😃
