If you want to improve your parkrun PB, I suggest Isabel Trail in Stafford could be the parkrun for you.
Team Snail started near the back as most of us are tourist runners so it was about 10seconds before we actually got across the start.
Kitten 1 and Oldfloss naturally paired up for mutual support as they have a similar pace.
TailChaser supported jay66UK as Jay was running without headphones.
Flaraflarkin, runningroni, myself and Kitten 2 pretty much ran our own 'races'.
I tried (and failed) to keep up with kitten 2.
The route is 2.5k out and back again so we were able to wave / high 5 / encourage each other as we passed in the opposite direction. πππππππ
Kitten 2 led Team Snail across the line in just over 27 minutes with a new PB. I was just over 28 minutes and a new PB. We both got scanned and then headed back to join the throng cheering runners on to the line. TailChaser sprinted ahead of Jay66UK,. Flaraflarkin smiled all along the home straight π. Runningroni was next. Oldfloss got a new PB π and kitten 1 had a strong sprint finish.
A well earned cafe break after. Everyone was excellent company and it was a grand day out.
We will do it again πΈπΈπΈπΈ

All those PBs πͺ Well run Team Snail π€ Was a lovely flat route for me, I'm back tomorrow for more - hope I can come back and do it again with you all one day π
Even if a 70 year old runs a 5k in just under 30 minutes his/her age graded score suggests he/she has further or faster to run, really, talk about pressure, I understand that 60% is considered a "local pass" seems that a 70 year old person would need to run a 5K in under 27 minutes..
Strangely, my last 2x recent PBs just happened so I feel there's more in the tank. Looking forward to going sub 28 minutes (hopefully) this month! πΈ
Kitten 1 did a great job in encouraging Oldfloss. Sshh.! Oldfloss might even be thinking to go sub 35 minutes now as it isn't that much further on from her new PB! πΈ
So lovely to read another account of this, still gutted I missed it, though if thereβs a next time you lot would put me to shame, all these sub 30 minute 5ks!!! My excuse is that Iβm working my way back from the IC, but I was never that fast in the first place lol
You guys sound like you had the best time! All thanks to this incredible forum where we all feel like we know each other! Iβm so glad it turned out that way, and if another such meeting could be arranged, lβd be there like a shot. I wonder where the most central parkrun is to us all? π€
His cheeky. Just run your own run. Why would we carry on if we didn't enjoy it?
Most central spot? Nationally it would those places that are furthes from the coast,so Derby, Leicester, Leamington. But it makes sense to think about regional meets.
It's just so lovely to read all the banter π. The 5k times are amazing, as are the PBs, and to hear that some of you went out and did at least twice the distance the next day π± well...now I wonder what was in that post run cuppa? π€π
Doing the run with you all has certainly perked me up. I have never run 2 consecutive days before
My Sunday run was only 5k but it was enough for me. Well done oldfloss, tailchaser and catnap on doing 10 but jay66uk you are a star.
To all who have wished us well and have said lovely stuff about us post run. You really need to meet up with others in your area or travel a bit the experience was the best.
I feel even more sorry I couldnβt be there having read all your lovely posts. It really does sound as though you had a great time. I will definitely try to be at the next Snails meet up!
