Fitbit Fail

I dropped my Fitbit Versa on a stone floor the other day and it has cracked from side to side. It was a birthday present and I cant afford to replace it at the moment. Ive tried the local phone screen repair guys who are great but dont touch watches. Fitbit wont repair it (its not repairable under warranty) but have kindly offered me a discount on the newer version. Its still too expensive for me right now. Has this happened to anyone else? Did you manage to come up with a fix rather than replace? Just looking for any ideas really. Thanks

sorry , I cant help.... but I feel for you. hope you find a reasonable solution soon. you would think being sportswear they would make them a bit more hardwearing. good luck

Thanks Deals - Yeh - seems a bit harsh especially as the versa and ionic are set up to be more "sports" focussed rather than step counters. Oh well - I may have to get the sellotape out!

Just an idea, but if the screen isn’t too badly cracked and you can still read it, could you buy a screen protector (if they make one for Fitbit?) It would be a temporary fix, but it should prevent it from cracking any more. They cost next to nothing on Amazon. I just ordered one for my Garmin, and I already use one on my iPhone. 😀

oh no - so sorry for you. I can't believe fitbit don't repair the screens!

There is a repair shop called ismash- if you can find one near you. They do apple watch screen repairs so i can't see why they wouldn't be able to repair the versa?

Thanks alisonx unfortunately we dont have one near us - but its always an option if I am somewere else to get it sorted

Someone damaged my car (while it was stationary not because I crashed it) and the premium went up a lot upon renewal.

My husband broke his at the side of the strap You couldnt replace the strap on early models, so I had a google and found a gem of advice. There is a fitbit chat line It was suggested that if you’re polite you maybe can sweet talk your way to free replacement I thought it worth a try as the watch was out of warranty

I gave it a whirl. Answered Fitbit chat questions honestly. (You type in your answers) and it worked! I got a free replacement for OH. He got a new model too, Nothing ventured 😃👍

Thanks - have just tried and although they wont send me a new one they have given me quite a punchy discount on the newer model and will keep the offer open for me until such time as I want to use it - rather than the usual 30 days. Thanks so much for your advice

Just as a thought for next time... I have a 3 with a metal strap. It's waterproof so I just don't take it off except when it needs a charge (which is less often than the Charge HR)
