Hello everyone and welcome to week 4 of the 10 is the magic number 10k Plan/ How are you all doing? How are you finding planks, squats and jumps?
This weeks vid is filmed in Hayle on the beach, and apologies itβs hard to hear due to the wind. The pic is one that I took on that run.... I was all alone there, it was just amazing.....
Managed to get out at last and did 6.5k today so hopping back onto week 4.... here I come. ππΌββοΈππΌββοΈππΌββοΈππΌββοΈ
Right, tomorrow itβs going to be 8k outside! Donβt fancy that on the treadmill thank you! ππ The snow better have melted. π€π€
Then I have my gait analysis on Tuesday (and probably new runners π) and hopefully the chance to try out my new trail shoes later in the week too. What an exciting few running days. ππ
What a lovely picture! I'm also slightly envious of that lovely flat sand
I did my 8k this morning and loved it!! It was 8.5k when I got home. I did waddle a little on the ice bits and stopped a couple of times for snow photos but ran all the hills I think the slippy snow has taught me I need to go slower for hills.
I couldn't find the post last week so I didn't do the hopping skipping and jumping so I'll pop that in this week. Surprisingly finding squats less awful than I thought.
Went out to do my 8k this morning. It was icy and I had to walk part of it - so decided to go a bit further to make up for it. Ended up doing 12K (but not all running!) But it was a sublimely beautiful run.
Sounds like you needed your woolly hat in that wind juju. π¬πββοΈ
Iβm on W5 this week but itβs just hit me that itβs only 2 weeks before skiing hols. βοΈβ·βοΈπΏβοΈ. So Iβm going to play it by ear with the running during this week, maybe doing some gym work to strengthen knees and thighs. Iβll do parkrun on Saturday but maybe just a slow 8k - weβll see.
I was out of action all last week due to a bloomin' virus completely wiping me out πͺπͺ. I spent Tuesday to Saturday mostly in bed. Yesterday, I decided that I was going to go out for a 5k run but only managed 2k before all of my energy was sucked from me and my sinuses were jarring with every footfall, so I walked the last 3k back home. I was so gutted and frustrated π’π‘π’π‘. So now I'm wondering as to whether to go back and repeat my 6k week (putting myself back 2 weeks) or whether to just start my 7k week with the shortest run tomorrow evening and try from there. Any suggestions from anybody ? I sometimes feel that my running journey is a case of '3 steps forward, 2 steps back, as whenever I make some nice steady progress, something comes along to sabotage it.
I did the 20minute run to a run program on the WW app. Well I was surprised as I can run faster than I thought for 20 minutes! π I been doing planks and squats for a while but was worried I wouldnβt be able to do the jumps ( I had to learn to walk and then run after a brain tumour) as I havenβt tried them for decades but to my surprise I managed little ones with a bit of a wobble. So going to practice them daily. Going for the 30 minute run tomorrow and will try to go a bit faster. Bit worried about 50 minutes but Iβm sure I will do it. π
Iβm hanging in there π just got the 8k left of week 4 ... just the 8kπ² ππ thank you for your brilliant plan I canβt believe I have run for 7k and am now am going for the 8k soon πββοΈ
Completed week 4 with no problems and looking forward to consolidating with the same runs in week 5! ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈ
