As it is the time when everyone traditionally sets goals for the coming year I have been thinking about what I want to try to achieve in 2019 and have come up with the following:

20 Park runs at 20 different venues.

Complete my current 50 5ks in 50 days (should be about Feb 9th).

1000 km total.

Get that elusive sub 30 min 5k.

At least one "organised" every month Feb to Nov, so far I have the following:

Feb - 10k Valentine's Run, Newcastle.

Mar - Dalton Park 10k.

Apr - North Tyneside 10k.

May - Sunderland Half Marathon.

June - Bamburgh 10k and Blaydon Race (7 miles).

July - Great North 10k, Gateshead.

Aug - South Shields 10 mile.

Sep - Great North Run (half marathon).

It's going to be a busy year!!

Run happy, run safe.

Whoa Chris, what an action packed and fabulous 2019 you have in store! Looking forward to hearing about all those runs! πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒπŸƒ

I’d like to get down to 35 minutes for 5k, and 1hr 15m for 10k (baby steps you understand!). I might (very small might) run a bit further, but I can’t see myself making a HM - but never say never. πŸ˜€

I too would like to partake in some parkrun tourism! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒ

I have 2 races planned (Bristol 10k in May and Severn Bridge 10k in August), and I’ll be on the lookout for more, suitable for Snails Like Me!

Can’t wait! Happy New Year to you Chris! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Oh my goodness, Chris, you are going to be busy. I'm impressed that you're so organised. I think I should maybe sign up for some events to keep me motivated. I might even brave it back at Parkrun sometime. I have at least got a run in Amsterdam in February and hopefully a run in Paris in July planned when our choir goes on tour.

Look forward to hearing about your runs.

I started c25k at the beginning of October and graduated on the 2nd of December.

I've been running for as long has I've wanted to since then about 3 times a week apart from when I got a virus.

Goal for the first 8 weeks of 2019 is to get to 10k.

That's definitely achievable.

Goals are important. I graduated 2017 and my goal for this year was to run 500miles which I completed middle of November. Next years goal is Copenhagen half marathon which I have already signed up for and have my place. It’s just keeping myself motivated now which is difficult. Good luck next year looks like a busy year.

I would like to complete my first half marathon in March, do some parkrun tourism and try for a sub-1hr 10k. Also do lots more trail running and exploring new routes - got another OS map for Christmas! πŸ€—
