The plan is a long walk tomorrow with my partner, Sunday will be my long run (in the rain by the looks of it π±), Monday rest day (I say rest, but I will be festive cooking for much of it), then on Tuesday, after the present swapping first thing, I will take myself out for an invigorating 3-4km.
Will anyone else be running Xmas day? Itβs my first time. π
Warm wishes for a happy and healthy (easy on the mince pies everyone!) festive season.

Lovely! I was also thinking Xmas eve but have so much prep to do (plus a lung run Sunday). Walking to the pub is a great idea! I have had Christmas days where I havenβt left the house at all and it makes you feel so cooped up.
Happy Xmas to you and yours too, dear Alka. π π·ππ
You always work Xmas Day? Kudos to you and all those who do. Of course, the world does not stop on Xmas day. I do hope you get a nice, reviving festive run in on the day. May your bells jingle and happy Xmas to you! xxx
Sorry I meant I work in a 24 hour service so it's a normal working week. I've worked either Christmas or boxing day for the last five years as many people do. π
Oh how lovely! A great start to the day. And I must attempt that when I am next in the fine city. I β€οΈ Edinburgh. Will think of you when I am flying (Though plodding is more likely given all the festive βcheerβ flowing) through the streets of London. xxx
I am also planning a Christmas Day run, hopefully. I haven't run in a week but have the next 6 days off so am hoping to run every other day, with a long run today. It will be nice to get the trainers back on and get out there again.
Yay for holiday running, Sask! So glad you have some time off and will get some runs in. Enjoy my lovely, and have yourself a merry little Christmas. xxx
You, too Sadie. I'm hoping now that I have a few days off, I can get into the Christmas spirit. The tree is finally up so that may help and as well getting a bit of a breather. We're not having a huge family celebration, so I should be able to relax a bit.
Hi, it'll be Parkrun in Bognor for me, then I won't feel so bad when I over-indulge later on. Then it's back to HM training on Thursday 27th with a 13K 'long' run.
It gladdens my heart to think of the Park Runs happening on Xmas day. Enjoy, David! Happy Christmas and the very best for the new (running) year. ππ ππ»ββοΈ
Ha ha! Am going to try not to overeat but am so healthy all year round that I am due some treats! Enjoy your Christmas run. I wonder if weβll see many folks out? xx
Weβve just found out one of the local Parkruns is planning to be held Christmas morning, so may both do that. Will need me to move around my normal Monday long run, but my HM plan had it dropping back to 10k next week anyway.
Have a great Christmas run Sadie! ππβ€οΈβ€οΈ
Hi! Iβm hoping to run on Christmas Day! Iβm working in busy shop/bakery with very early starts for next 3 days so it will be a lovely treat! Well thatβs what Iβm planning! Iβll sneak out quite early!! Might even persuade my daughter to join me!!! ππββοΈπ
UpTheStanley, my niece Christy, and I are hoping to do Parkrun at 9.00 on Christmas Day Sadie. We will don our outfits from the Santa run. π π»π€Άπ€Ά. Merry Christmas to you and everyone else on the forum
Oh what fun, a family park running! Happy Xmas dear Dexy and UpTheStanley! xxx
Iβm off to my dads house in South Gloucestershire for Christmas Day, my partner and I have never run together but I just suggested a Christmas Day run, inspired by this post Sadie... she said yes! Better make sure Iβve had my porridge on Christmas morning, her average pace is a good bit quicker than mine! Eeek! π¬β‘οΈ
Oh how lovely! I wish my partner was a runner. It will be a fun experience I am sure...hope she eases up on the pace for you! Have a lovely Christmas, TS! Ho ho ho! π x
Youβre not mad Sadie! We would be doing a nearby Parkrun but weβve family coming, but weβll certainly make up for it either side. Katnap may be doing his 10k on Boxing Day π€π€and Iβll definitely join him on that π
Hope you have a lovely Christmas ππππ¦xx
Happy festive running to you, Tailchaser! I expect my partner will moan about me ducking out for a run in the morning, but Iβll make it a quick one! Merry Xmas! x
Perfect. And so nice to hear thereβll be others out there! Worried that people will see me out running and assume Iβm a bit nuts! Happy Christmas! π π π·
I will definitely be going for a run Xmas day morning. In previous years I have always done a walk but this year will be a 10k run. Canβt wait. Merry Christmas π
This is my first year as a runner and I challenged myself to run every other day in December, so I will be running on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. Will have a lovely long walk with my dog before the family descend on our house for Christmas Day. Have a lovely day everyone xx
I'll be just happy to squeeze a run in anywhere...!!! Def won't get one in christmas morning though...I will be sinking under an ocean of wrapping paper!! Just got in from a very soggy run...
Happy happy Christmas to you and yours Sadie-runs ...enjoy your Christmas day run...and no, you're not bonkers...we're all bonkers!!!!! Xxxx ππππ€ͺ π₯πΎ
LOL! I can imagine the Christmas morning madness when you have kids in the house! But lovely madness, eh? Having to fit the runs in when you can makes them extra special and enjoyable, I reckon. Have yourself a merry little Christmas, dearest MC. πππ
Whatever gets you through the festive madness!π€ͺπ I've had a week off with an inflamed tendon on top of my foot after my 10k last week but am desperate to go out soon. I've got 2 dollops of family staying pre & post Xmas who drive me nuts so I NEED to run!!
Hope you have a lovely Christmas and enjoy your festive run!! Xx
πππ It does help. And sorry to hear about your poor foot, Slinky. I really hope it is healed soon so you can at least get out for a gentle plod over the season of craziness. I have everything crossed for you.
I think I will get away with a run on Christmas Day if I get up very early. Everyone else will be crashed out with a bit of luck. Not so early as to run into Santa of course π . Have a good Christmas π²ππΎπ¦
All the best! You will be fine, youβve done it once before. π
I have to or I will be out of the Marcothon challenge. At least i think it will be in the morning - it makes the most sense as we will be going to my daughter, son in law and granddaughters for Christmas lunch.
Have a wonderful Yule dearest Sadie and enjoy your Christmas day run xxx
Oh of course! You are doing so well with this, Flick. A morning run will set you up nicely. Have a wonderful day and happy Yule to you too my lovely. xxx
Unlikely as we are with half the family in the morning then travelling to the other half for the afternoon - mad or what?! So.... when I can over the festive season.
