So today, I have seen someone who has been 100% an inspiration to me since my running days began...I haven’t met her in person but I have seen her in runners world magazine...& she is even more an inspiration to me if that’s even possible...I have, at times, wondered if we were separated at birth, we have so much in common, especially our taste in music...one thing we’re not twins in is running commando!! And, had we been separated at birth, how come she ended up in Italy??!!! Lol...but I saw the article about her & I felt like I knew her when I looked at her picture...I’m so proud of her...I even told DaddyCav about it and referred to her as ‘my friend’ it’s amazing how, through this forum, we all just get it...and running brings us all together, we can get everything we need from just being on here, whether it’s advice, support, kick up the butt, a listening ear or a friend....and I have every one of those things... Hidden is this person...this friend of mine...when I run tomorrow I will be thinking of her & how much she has inspired me....❤️
Inspiration....: So today, I have seen someone... - Bridge to 10K
Inspiration....
I didn't know she was in RunnersWorld... which issue? 😁
I am sure 'Mummycav' that 'Jancanrun' has contributed to this form in the past, although not for a while now. I just looked up her profile.
Yes, she was a regular on here, she graduated in June last year and I graduated in Oct...Jan & a few others (they know who they are) kept me going & cheered me on my journey, I’m so thankful that they did. She pops in now & again with her entertaining posts & discussions...she’s known for her DJ skills compiling playlists on Spotify for us to take out with us
Playlists are legendary aren’t they...we both have one named after us 😜
Hi Polly2810 - it was and is my greatest pleasure whenever I play one of my ‘dedicated to’ playlists, I think of the person and I think of you and bridezilla and wedding cakes and migraine cures. Thanks for the lovely thoughts JCR XX
Just amazing Bev, with her 2018km challenge for this year and on track. Doing it for her friend.
Lovely post.
Jancanrun has done so much also for the forum with advice and playlists.👏👏
Hope you are good.
💥🏃♀️💥👏👏
She certainly has Tbae ...I’m doing good thank you...how are you? x
Thank Tbae for such a vote of thanks and can I say how utterly overwhelmed I was by seeing your donation to my cause. Such a very kind gesture, I thank you so much and for your encouragement along the way... JCR XX
That is just so lovely of you Jan.
Brava Bella.🌟☄️
You are an inspiritation,to your loved ones and to this forum.
Keep bringing your stuff and every good wish to you and your family.
Tante Auguri.
💥🏃♀️👑💥👏👏
Wow! Well done Hidden !! You are amazing!!
Thanks Decker we keep on doing that running thing.... XX
A great inspiration to me and many others Bev, lovely post. X
Thanks Martin_Rose ...I know we’ve been around for more or less the same time on here & Jan has always been an inspiration...each comment or like from anyone is wonderful...because it’s a nod to ‘getting it’
Thanks Martin for the sentiments, - there was a crew of us all about the same time and that’s the thing I notice most one here, your fellow W1-9ers seem to stay friendly and supportive of each other. I feel so lucky to have ‘met’ you all Happy running XX JCR
Love this! It is amazing how much people you've never met can impact your life and you become great friends without so much as a telephone chat. I'm proud to call many of the guys and girls on this forum "friend" and care as much for them as my real-life friends. As said above, they 'get it', this running thing and it really does play a massive part in your life when you catch the bug!
Must read the article though as I also haven't seen it yet.
😁
It is...I really felt a connection to Jan when I saw her...it’s weird. But we all have running in common and know the benefits it can bring...including these amazing friendships xx
The funny thing is Sutsha I haven't seen it either... but RW have promised me a copy when I get back to London. But I love this forum, the people and how it changed my life.
I'm looking forward to reading it now, so hopefully I can put my hands on a copy. Just cancelled Readly too as I wasn't using it!
It's a great forum, hugely helped in those early days especially.
And it just goes on as new runners join the ranks, in their droves so I understand.
😁
That’s amazing Bev - lovely how strangers can become friends without ever having met them. I have people on here that I follow, admire and would call friends due to their support and inspirational posts. It’s so cool - I love it 😍 x
Yes, I've been reading about Jan in the mag, she was on here not too long ago.
Well done Jancanrun, great effort!
She was, she pops in now & again...she’s amazing
Thanks davelinks I am on my way - just clipped over the 1700km mark. Hope you’re okay and running smoothly...
We all have our inspirations, mine are too many to mention, but they have all played an integral part in me becoming a fledgling runner and for that and to each and every one of you, thank you
Mine too Berksrover , there are so many on here...some things stick in your mind too, things people say & then pop into your head when you’re out & about, that’s what I like...😉
Well said mummycav! It’s weird isn’t it? we none of us have ever met but I think of so
Many of you as my friends! Virtual or not we all have our running in common.
That is so cool! Thanks for letting us know Bev. Now to try and find the article....
I feel I have lots of virtual friends on here and I thank them all for their support and replies to my posts. Love the jancanrun playlists, she is amazing.
The ideas Jan comes up with for the playlists are so good..I often take them with me. I consider everyone on here a friend too x
Thanks Agelesslass I feel very humble to have so many nice people who I do consider to be my friends who are on here. This forum took me from being a raw, unsure beginner to someone who loves running and cannot consider a life without it now. The playlists are a little payback to this wonderful community. JCR XX p.s Famous Names Extra Cut is on its way...
What an amazing woman and runner she is. Jancanrun has always inspired me; thank you so much for posting this, dear Bev. 😘 And this forum? I would not have got this far with my running without the support and friendship of all you lovely folk. Truly, you are all lifesavers. xxx
Thanks Sadie-runs we all support each other here, one of the nicest clubs in the world in my opinion
Wow Bev, what an amazingly lovely thing to say, my inspiration has come from this wonderful place and all the folk on here... Actually I think we’re triplets because Razouski is also my other twin....
I can't tell you how proud you’ve made me feel, but it has to be said it couldn’t have been done without C25K and all the amazing folk on here. From the first day when IannodaTruffe , Bluebirdrunner Oldfloss (who were the mentors when I started), everyone truthfully helps each other out and it’s the one social media outlet that for me brings together an amazing bunch of people.
You don’t know how you will get on when you join here, but for me and I guess many others it’s become life-changing.
Thank you my dear, dear friend....

JCR
Bluebirdrunner ...has helped me along so much...on here, on Strava, always the first one to Cheer me on... Oldfloss with her wise words & kindness... ju-ju- with her energy and generally passion for the outdoors...they’ve all been around since my running days began...I’m sure I wouldn’t have completed C25k without their encouragement..there are so many, every ‘like’ & comment really lifts your spirits x
You know we just cant manage without each other it seems... we all help one another in our own ways. Ju-ju on the beyonders club in Facebook is as much a source of inspiration there as she is here. Truthfully our members are lovely and the mentors and administrators are just above and beyond description in their dedication to the cause
Jan, you are pretty amazing. An inspiration to us all. I need to see this article. Is it online?
P. S. I’m busy recovering from my half marathon in Dubrovnik. So lovely and relaxing but may have to go for a run tomorrow, just because... 😉
Oh well on done on the half - that’s on my bucket list for 2019. The article is only in the print version unfortunately but if we get together for a November PCT, I’ll bring my copy from RW around to Fix.
So well done you on the HM - and of course you have to run tomorrow, just because....
Ah Mummycav this is such a lovely post. 😍Jamcanrun is pretty amazing for sure!! 🤩 It’s always so great to have those uplifting posts that keeps everyone going through the good days and the challenges. 😍😍❤️
Thanks again Mummycav for letting us know - just bought my copy of RW, & yes, Hidden , you are amazing, & it was a good read (even though I've virtually read all your blogs, so have followed your Monopoly & the 'Ups' & 'Downs'... Have you decided on your Royal Run yet?
Oh The Royal Run, - I’m going to out the ideas in a ‘hat' and pull them out and see which one wins, but as they were all such nice ideas, I’m thinking of doing one a week during December, as I’ve promised myself I will finish exactly on Christmas Eve.
Fabulous! Hope we have this beautiful clear weather then too, for you to do your last run(s) in
Thanks I hope so too... but my most fave run was doing Regents Park when we had the Beast from the East - it was one of my slowest and shortest but just brilliant, so snow and ice I can manage it’s pesky wind and rain I hate....
But sun on my last run would be fantastic...
I am sure the sun will be shining down on you Jan...like a spot light on a star xxx
