Hi all. Not posted for a bit - busy whilst back in the U.K. for a few weeks. Woke up with a toothache. This is something I never get, so a bit of a surprise. I can either phone the dentist and go and wait to be seen, or go for a run. No contest! Endorphins are nature’s painkiller, right?
Garmin wasn’t helping, asking whether it could do a software update just after I started my warm-up. No you can’t. Shut up and do your job. I hit the red button and go. First split was 6.11 which is pretty nippy for me, so I started pushing a bit. Buzz, 6.04. Wow, might be on for a good time here. I lost a few seconds dodging pedestrians and crossing roads whilst running down the high street, but eventually managed to run my first sub-31 minute 5k. 25 seconds faster than my previous best which was set on a very fast mountain trail last month.
Happy bunny. Oh, and my toothache disappeared somewhere along the route 😀
* Regarding the map. My run doesn’t begin or end anywhere near my home 🤪

Great 5k time! Just a thought but I get 'toothache' sometimes when a cold sets in my sinuses. I've been to the dentist on 2 occasions in the past convinced I'd need a filling, only to be sent home via Boots for some Sudafed!!
