Sorry shoes parkrun madnesses

Hi all

did the Llanerchaeron parkrun this morning through storm Callum torrential rain and extreme winds managed a time of 29:20 even though part of the course was under water. The Llanerchaeron parkrun guys were wonderful and the marshals need medals 😀

Oh my goodness. I hope you’ve stuffed your shoes with newspaper runsome. As you say, well done to the the marshals for keeping it going. We only had strong winds in Southsea fortunately.

Hi Dexy not yet only just got back from Wales a nice little 600mile drive after parkrun I can’t see the photo myself as it’s stopped showing them again and I’m not getting notifications also the same as pianoteacher last week,I have deleted and reloaded app but still no good. How was your run today? Good I hope😀

The techies are working on the photo situation but I’m now going through the website as it only affects the app.

The nurse advised no running so I was marshal again today. I’ll walk it next week if I can’t run!

Pianoteacher’s problem with notifications was caused by a change of email address , if that helps.

Oh OK I hope you recovery continues well and you get the green light soon. Good to know techies are on it 😀👍

Thanks Sandraj39 it was a bit sploshy especially after coming out of track where the river was running, It felt like my shoes weighed a ton until I squelched along for hundred yards then it was ok. But had to do it again on the return leg and on the jog home whinch is when I took the picture 😀💦

Wow! Ours was tricky enough and it was just windy! Well done, I hope you’ve dried out.

Yes thanks Tail chaser with a beer 🍺 and a Chineese takeaway 🥡 . How did the wind affect your run? 😀

That sounds a perfect way to dry out 👍 We got buffeted a lot - the home section had a headwind which made the finish extra tiring. We normally have sub-17 minute runners but no-one ran less than 18 minutes, which is very unusual. Also, there was a lot of debris flying around from the surrounding trees. On the plus side, there weren’t too many people using the park today! It’s good to experience these different conditions though, it’s just another challenge. You definitely deserved that meal 😀

Sound like you had a difficult one too that headwind was a real leg killer 😀

Fabulous Runsome! Brilliant time in adverse conditions! Hope your lovely runners have dried out. 👟💦🤞

Yes, marshals need tons of appreciation. We have one lady at ours who’s often a marshal and she bounces around giving each runner a personal encouraging comment! I love the friendly running community, both in real life and on here! ❤️

OMG!! Great time in those conditions - bet you'll be glad to be back at Hastings next Saturday 🤣

Yes I was thinking exactly that as I was running 😀

Hi Cheeky. The whole parkrun team were heroes. Well quite unbelievably I finished in 8th place which seems incredible but that’s because only 22 runners braved the storm and floods. I think it will take quite few days for my shoes to dry😀
