Found myself home alone today ruing that I was not up to 10k runs at the moment.
To make the best of a windy afternoon I decided to take in a route that I haven't run before. Total distance around 6k to 7k which should be ok with the current state of my legs.
I set off aiming for a slow 8m/k pace to keep things light and easy. Brain engaged the idea but the legs didn't refusing to go slow.
After about 2km I found the route drifting off of the paved disused canal and taking an incline onto more of a trail route. I think in fact I missed a duck under a bridge which would have stayed on the canal but this was fun, tougher than usual but fun all the same.
The route carried on meandering left and right and up and down. I gave up forcing myself to keep going and settled instead for enjoyment running the flats and walking the inclines.
Next time I do this route I will be more prepared .. for the coffee shop half way around .. and for the ups and downs.
Happy running everyone .. enjoy yourselves.

Sounds fab. It's good to do some trail running. It's a bit more effort, but I love it. There are no coffee shops on my routes, but I think if there were I wouldn't want to stop then have to start again. I love the idea of it though. There are some decent pubs on some of my routes, but I've never stopped at any of them. I have to admit, being a teetotaler, I prefer the idea of a coffee shop anyway. 😊☕
