Good Morning, please can I have my graduation badge? Iβve followed Ju-juβs 10k plan but had to accelerate slightly to graduate before I go on holiday this weekend. I did my 10k on Sunday and havenβt stopped smiling yet πIβve seriously caught the running bug, Iβm even taking my trainers and kit on holiday with me. Will still do 3 runs per week while Iβm there although maybe not 10k, I donβt want to venture too far away from the beach πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
I fee a bit naughty posting on here already as I was only supposed to do 9K last night, but got a bit carried away and did the full 10K. Can I ask now or should I wait till I've done it next week when I was supposed to?
Hi! Ran the 10k in training last night, and aside for some tired aches I'm feeling good today! The thought of little grey box helped to keep me going towards the endπ¨βπ π€
Hope there's room for me here. I did my first 10km in a race today on a sunny, cold Saturday morning. I feel so fantastic if a bit tired. So where to next I wonder ??
Did 10k this morning. Thought I could probably do it for a few weeks now, but still good to prove it. Thanks to all the helpers and supporters of this site.
So today my OH graduated the Magic 10! We did the C25K together, but when I raised the Magic 10 he would have none of it - 5K was far enough. The aim was to run 3 times a week to get fit and strengthen our legs for snowsports, we weren't supposed to catch the bug!
I put it out of my mind at the time, but when he got sick and couldn't accompany me for a few weeks I snuck onto the plan and tried to entice him to follow suit once again. Again, he said no. I would run with him and he would leave at the mid-point and I would run on. We embraced the 5K together and he come around to the Parkrun idea. We've attended our local a few times and did a tourist one recently where we even met up with a friend from the forum.
He eventually came around to the idea that there was no harm in running a little longer (rather than further) and we creeped up to 6K, then 7K. Then he'd ask how far we were going when we went out and I'd next an extra K in when I thought I'd get away with it. I then printed a copy of Ju-Ju's plan for the fridge and marked his progress on it - I think he was secretly pleased to see the weeks being marked off as he stopped fighting it and I quickly signed him up for the 10K Movember virtual run π
I realised he was worried about managing it and we picked up the pace a little, a practice run in advance would be a good idea I felt.
That brings us to today - today he completed his first 10K EVER! A sprinter in his youth, distance was unheard of.
I'm so very proud of his achievement and thought I'd post here on his behalf since he doesn't follow the forum himself, but takes a keen interest over my shoulder π
Did it tonight! Just back from a long run with the running club I recently joined and we ran 10k. I was the slowest but didn't stop, so very pleased with myself!
Hi Millsie, I completed JuJu's magic 10 a week ago and have run >10k 3 times now so don't think it was just a fluke run, could I have my shiny new badge please?
Hello Millsie, Iβve only gone and done it. 10k today. Whoopie. I would love to see a shiny badge, especially now itβs easier for you to do. Thank you for your support.
Yes I was heard to shout βTake that Billy Trail, youβre not going to stop me!β
Thank you so much for your support TailChaser VRB extraordinaire. Now Iβll be following your journey. Skip the tripping bit though - not recommended.
Thanks Dexy, hopefully not long now. First 9k this afternoon all being well...and no slipping or tripping if I can help it (funnily enough Iβm writing risk assessments this morning so maybe Iβll do a bunch for C25K & B10K π).
All the best for what you do next, thatβs a mightily impressive badge you have there ππ
Hello everyone! I completed my first ever 10k this morning after following Ju-Juβs magic 10 plan. Looking forward to levelling off for a couple of weeks now before starting towards the half marathon, hopefully by March next year. Not going to win any races any time soon (1:12 was my time this morning) but the sense of accomplishment is great!
