Ooh, Yes please Oldfloss, been several months since completion but several spells on the IC and the dreaded dayjob interfering but happy to say I'm back now pounding the streets!

Now retired so that's one less thing to interfere with my running!

Retired.... you will have soooooo much to do.. and running can take a HUGE part!

Congratulations and well done!

It's quite amazing really, this place that is.

I'm the stereotypical 'lurker' on the forum as I avidly read but not often do I post, I find the constant posts of motivation, inspiring comments and the plain tips on running, a joy.

People really do care you know.....

I started my own journey on C25K in 2013 and couldn't believe the difference running made to me in both the physical and mental senses. I've just retired from quite a stressful job (responsibility for 200 people) and running gave me the mental release from the stresses the dayjob presented to me each day.

Now I have more time I intend to have a more structured running plan across the weeks ahead and who knows, the inspiration from this site may motivate me to aspire to a half-marathon plan should this ol' fella's bones allow it. I know one thing though, I know I can count on support from you all here.

I admit to cycling more now as well. I know, I am a sinner. But what has inspired me in running from this forum has helped me to achieve some goals on 2 wheels, RideLondon 100miler, London to Paris for Parkinson's Society to name a couple but whatever we do the constant that exists in us all is the desire to be appreciated and supported when times are challenging.

I see that every day on here, it's an amazing place.

All of you that post, lurk or administrate, please keep going, please keep the camaraderie that is so prevalent at whatever stages we are individually on our personal journeys, I know it made a difference to me, I'm sure it makes a difference to you too.

Like I say, people really do care you know.

Well.... that is a useful post...maybe post it again on Bridge and on C25K... I think many would find it helpful.

I am into my first HM plan... as ever, taking it gently but loving it:)

The support is amazing and we continue to learn and evolve as we move onwards..whether for a cause or simply for our own enjoyment:)

Hi. Just hit the 10K this morning. Followed juju on a rogue schedule . Lovely sunny run, reminiscing of the first W1R1 C25K struggle in the darkness of Winter. Feeling a bit proud.

I did it at last! It's taken almost a year since I graduated from C25K, but today I ran my first 10K. I've had a selection of injuries that have slowed me down, but they have made me keener than ever. Love the sense of achievement. Love the 'after a run' feeling. Love this forum with all the wonderful support and inspiration it provides. Not sure what's next for me, but I won't be straying far from here that's for sure. Hopefully I will be able to get off the treadmill soon and build up my outside running again. Happy running everyone.

Oldmo. Have run two 10k’s now. Thought the first one was a fluke. Can’t say I enjoy it at the moment but I am sure it will get easier the more you do 🤞Still this time last year I was struggling to run for 10 minutes so well happy.

Hi, I’m a lurker who would love a badge please. I completed C25K almost a year ago and decided by this year I wanted to run 10k outside which I did (very slowly) this morning. Reading about the people like me who never thought it would be possible has really helped get me out of bed and down to the park. So thank you! Next stop Park Run.

I completed 10k for the 1st time ever yesterday! 🏃‍♀️ I’ve posted a bit about it in another post in the Bridge to 10k forum. I would love to receive my badge. I think I lost the 5 badge when I changed my name.

Hi

I did my first 10k in Saturday morning, almost by accident. Went out to do 5.5k and just kept going. I think I prefer a decent length run with not necessarily much speed to the shorter faster ones. Time to get “ in the zone” on a longer run😊.

Hi Oldfloss. Can I have a 10k badge? I went out on Saturday nice and steady just to see how far I could go. Ended up doing 10.9k in 1hr 34. 😳 🐌🐌🐌

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministrator60minGraduate in reply to YoureDoingGreatPet

Congratulations and well done:)

Just a slight warning note... you are still a very new Graduate and although you did take it steady, the running legs are still building... please take care:) It is all too easy to get a hidden injury....

Do we need to graduate from the 10k plan or do all 10ks count? I did 10.6km last night and 11.6km on 9th June 👍😁

The 11.6 was a bit of a stretch but last nights was steady and cleared the 10k in 59 mins. I am pretty pleased with that result.

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministrator60minGraduate in reply to GoGo_JoJo

Very well done on those runs:) You did 10K..that is all it takes :)

There is your badge.. and that is a very fast time for a first 10K.. folk would envy you that ! Me included! :)

GoGo_JoJo profile image
GoGo_JoJoGraduate10 in reply to Oldfloss

Well that was my second. First was 1.10 I think. I did actually do one prior on a trail run... the nettle run but that was 1.38 and included stopping and walking so didn't count that 🤣

It's an easyish route and was pretty determined although not flat out. And extra rest day really helped 👍😁

GoGo_JoJo profile image
GoGo_JoJoGraduate10 in reply to Oldfloss

Thank you! Look at that... two badges for running within 4 months and just 6 months after starting! Gone are the days of not completing things 👍😁
