It's a big weekend here in the Bernese Oberland, the Jungfrau Marathon takes place. This is a really tough run, with a vertical climb of around 6000 feet over the marathon distance. Details here if you're tempted. jungfrau-marathon.ch/en/
Of course this is all somewhat academic for this novice runner, but happily there is a mini marathon for newbies like me. I merely have to complete one tenth of the marathon distance around the park in Interlaken - 4.2 kilometres. I should be able to manage that.
Running during C25K/B210k is almost always solitary, with the occasional pleasure of running with others at parkrun if I am in the U.K. This is totally different, with 600 runners, and several thousand spectators cheering everyone on. A unique experience. I didn’t have a plan for the run so I just scampered round as fast as I could in about 27 minutes. It was absolutely magical - I must have had a thousand high-fives from the spectators on the way round.
This is a truly inclusive run - no age categories, no ranking list published, just enjoy it. As I ran past the grandstand with hundreds of people cheering me on I recalled Week 1 Run 1 of C25K, and smiled. Who would ever have thought it would lead to this. What a day. Oh, and there were dinosaurs 😀👍

Wow! That's awesome! Maybe my son would run with me, if I told him there were dinosaurs.... might've worked a few years ago, not likely now. Great job on your run.
Sounds like a great event - well done! I too am usually a solitary runner but I love the buzz of a big event and you're right, they really bring home the inclusiveness of running.🙂
Well done and thanks for the link. Sounds fun and a good idea to vary our running experiences - might try it next year as I live in France just across the border from Geneva so not too far away.
