Here we are at the start of the second week of the 10 is the Magic Number 10K plan!!! I hope you are all enjoying it so far πThis week you will be running 3K, 5K, and 6K!!!
As you may have noticed, I'm giving ju-ju- a hand this time, and today she has left for a week of much-deserved holiday, so here I am! I'm afraid I'm not yet brave enough to make a Ju-Ju style video (I don't know how she does it!!?), but I thought this one she made last time would be useful:
I like it particularly because she talks about motivation, and we just this week had the poll about that! I was very moved by some of the stories that were shared - go and have a read through if you haven't already:
Had the all clear from the Consultant yesterday... and typically an email saying there are likely to be spare places for the Tissington Half Marathon...( I was on the reserves list). I had to e mail back saying I will not be ready this year... but.. there is always next
That's wonderful news Oldfloss. I'm so glad you are back at running and it's steady and satisfying. Lots of HM's to do and lots of time to do them in. Enjoy
I'll be resitting week 5 this week β¦.. did a Parkrun volunteering stint instead of running on Saturday, so with relatives visiting Mon-Thu was going to take a full week off, but when Monday afternoon saw us off to a nature reserve which just happens to have a handy 4k loop, I decided at short notice to do the W5 long run (8k). But at 4.5k something grabbed my left calf - I thought at first it was just cramp, but when it was still there after a couple of miles walk and a shower, I knew it had to be muscular. Maybe the result of a stumble on the roughish track, though I don't remember one? 4 days later, it's still a bit stiff, though I managed 3.5k alongside Dexy5 yesterday and intend to Parkrun at her pace tomorrow. Then we'll see where we go from there β¦.. those weeks in hand may come in handy
Thanks. I have a feeling I'm going to need it π΅
My plan for tomorrow is 8.5km although I've chosen a run that is probably a 10km loop. I reckon with a longish warm up and cool down, I'll do a slow run. I've eaten a huge dinner tonight so it may be possible that I won't be able to move tomorrow morning at all...
Slow because it was very hilly with lots of tree roots and stones. It was In a forest with lots of paths so I got lost and had to stop. I did it even though it took me an hour. Iβll try somewhere flat for my 9km next week π
Finally finished week 7 from the last round! No pressure to stick to the weeks here and most importantly I'm still running! Hoping for 5K tomorrow, and then ... maybe the big 10 on Monday?
erk! It didn't - I just did my 5K today. Slippage! Good run though, I decided to really attempt to up my speed as I was pretty sure I could manage over the 5K to start a wee bit faster. Managed a pb but was expectedly tired by the 4th K! Slow for the next one
Ive not been able to run for a week due to an old knee pain re-emerging. I'm booked to see physio this week but I'm going to try and run tomorrow without pushing myself. I will get to 10k, it just may take a little longer!
Annoyingly I got injured just when I was starting to really enjoy itπ₯
Iβm having to do week three again. My ankle was really sore after doing it the first time. I left a week to recover and have been doing calf strength exercises and lots of walking. So now Iβve one long run left of week three. I plan 7km on Tuesday. Fingers crossed Iβm not so stiff after this repeat week.
I've only just seen your latest post from 2 days ago, and I guess I'm the first to reply 'cos nobody else saw it either - there's no way of knowing a new post has turned up on the end of an existing thread, as far as I know? So I thought I'd better reply, as I wouldn't want you to feel unloved
Anyway, I'm doing OK as per my own latest thread, thanks, pretty much back on track after my niggle
