First post, not to be sniffed at!

I graduated from C25K in July and have been enjoying (!?!) the delights of our local parkrun. Strange question, but does any one else suffer from a runny nose when running (well, jogging) ? My nose runs like a tap and I am constantly sniffing! I know it's not hayfever, perhaps I am allergic to running haha!

I guess there are all sorts of allergens in the air that might be affecting you halfpintgill . I spent a weekend in London in June and my nose was running constantly.

It’s the opposite for me when running. My nose is often really dry and I end up breathing in and out through my mouth. I probably need to drink more water!

🤧🏃‍♀️

Definitely allergic to running then 😁 my daughter lives in London and she always says her snot (sorry!) turns black!

I think Dexy's right, it will be allergens, coupled with the fact that you're shifting an awful lot of air during your run.

Fortunately I don’t suffer with the sniffles, I just want to pee all the time 😂

Ooh, I'd rather have the sniffles than the piddles! 😁

Maybe try taking an antihistamine an hour or so before running and see if that helps?

That sounds like a good idea! I will take one and see what happens. I knew fresh air was bad for you 😅

I get this and I'm miserable if I don't have a tissue stuffed in my waistband when I set out.I don't think it's an allergic reaction though, just natural clearing the system!

Ahh, so glad I'm not the only one!

I take a big hankie and have a good blow as required I also wear a towelling wristband for nose wiping😃

There's an idea, can't imagine where I would put a hankie! May get some curious looks though haha!

You put the man size hankie under your wristband. I fold mine flat and long then fold it in half. Goes in just fine

This is exactly what I do during hayfever season! Big white cotton grandpa hanky stuffed under a towelling wristband. Can vouch for its effectiveness 😀

Sometimes it’s a two hankie job. Especially in winter. I think better out than in! 🙂

Who knew that there are so many nose issues when running! 😅

😮😮😮😮 not sure that lifting up my shirt is an option 😬 people may see what lurks underneath 😬

I’m allergic to the pollution. I even get sinusitis if I don’t use an antihistamine spray/tablet. I’m in London though.

The perils of the 'Big Smoke' literally!! I live in the North West, relatively 'clean' compared to London, I think!

Sounds like exercise induced rhinitis.

Hi. I've just searched 'runny 👃' and lots of posts appeared. Yes, I have this problem too. Have a sweat wristband with a tissue tucked inside to save hunting around for one. It's the same when I cycle too. Maybe we are allergic to exercise!

I have a sweatband now too 😂
