Well finally after 2 years + sInce the last one, went out just after 6.10am this morning to set off for a long run of 10K .. have definitely learnt the trick of these now slower steady pace just had to add a little to my usual routeeven going up inclines doesn't phase me now ..
Was a good run and was even in the moment 2 or 3 times ... which was amazing ... my average pace was where I wanted it . No drama's no fuss . Other than a group of 4 lady runners early on no one else was out that I saw ...
Overall very satisfying to finally get back to back to magic 10K .. legs are feeling it now but nothing unexpected for a 60 year old ..
Going to have to look at hydration if I up the distance again ... extra fuel sorted found some Tesco protein bites that are easy to eat running ..
Nice work, and a fellow fenland chap I see. I used to live out by wimblington a bit further north, I don't recall any inclines hehe unless you're counting going up the kerb
St Ives. Brother-in-law. I recall we exchanged posts once about this but maybe it was someone else 😏 BIL was a marathon runner and keeps giving me advice 😕
Mayhap we did.. Sadly my mind is in a state of decay. St Ives you say. Yes I run to there often and no they aren't the healthiest lot there a bit more pasty than smashed avocado.
