Not so much BOOM as boom

Well finally after 2 years + sInce the last one, went out just after 6.10am this morning to set off for a long run of 10K .. have definitely learnt the trick of these now slower steady pace just had to add a little to my usual routeeven going up inclines doesn't phase me now ..

Was a good run and was even in the moment 2 or 3 times ... which was amazing ... my average pace was where I wanted it . No drama's no fuss . Other than a group of 4 lady runners early on no one else was out that I saw ...

Overall very satisfying to finally get back to back to magic 10K .. legs are feeling it now but nothing unexpected for a 60 year old ..

Going to have to look at hydration if I up the distance again ... extra fuel sorted found some Tesco protein bites that are easy to eat running ..

Feeling very content with myself today ..

Nice work, and a fellow fenland chap I see. I used to live out by wimblington a bit further north, I don't recall any inclines hehe unless you're counting going up the kerb :)

Thanks pinkaardvark those kerbs are quite high out here 😂😂 nearly had to call Pidley mountain rescue 😊😊

I was up your way last weekend at a "do" for BIL and thought of you. Blimey it was hot and I didn't see any runners at all ☹️

St Ives. Brother-in-law. I recall we exchanged posts once about this but maybe it was someone else 😏 BIL was a marathon runner and keeps giving me advice 😕

Mayhap we did.. Sadly my mind is in a state of decay. St Ives you say. Yes I run to there often and no they aren't the healthiest lot there a bit more pasty than smashed avocado.

A frind of mine runs around St Ives .I always seem to see runners around when I drove through.. I use to use guided bus way for longer runs too.

I didn't clock that this was your part of the world too Rob. We're not there too often but my husband has very fond memories of the whole area.

Originally from Cambridge. Have lived out here for about 16 years now ... it is a lovely area to be in 😊
