I had 2 lovely runs back in my beloved woods at the weekend which were just what I needed after some difficult times.

I wish I could bottle up smells ( not the goat so much) goat 🐐!!! But they had been cutting pine trees for wood and there was the sweetest smell that just made me stand and breathe deeply talking in the moment. It’s the simple things....

Sigh. That is what I love about running – an appreciation of the simple things. Running really makes you live in the moment, and we all need that now and again, as we so often spend time dwelling on things that have happened, and worrying about things yet to happen. Sorry you have had some difficult times, ju-ju – hope things are on the up for you now. x

Know what you mean Ju-Ju, we need to savour those special moments.

A real high for me in Skye this week (not on a run) was spotting a hare outside the patio doors - have glimpsed hares before but never close up like this. Watched him for about 30 seconds eating the grass before he took fright and scampered off into the distance. Many people would say β€œso what, so you saw a hare”, but being up close and personal with a creature like that was a really special moment.

beautiful... I saw a baby deer this morning ( Bamby) just leaping through the grass in the field and it was so special. We would never see these things if we didnt get out there. I had an encounter with an owl a year ago in the woods which was amazing...

Near Staffin, at a property looking across to the Trotternish Ridge. And yes, it was foggy on Sunday for my graduation run but the fog lifted during Monday, and it’s been great ever since :)

I am super jealous of your running routes! I follow you on Strava and your pictures always look great. I live in a city and I am lucky to find some greenery but I hope one day I will get to live near a beautiful forest like the one you run in :)

Despite being in an industrial estate, part of our route from work is through the woods. I love it when the sun is shining through the tree canopy :)
