Good luck at the weekend! I ran this a couple of years ago - such a great event, fantastic support too. If you have run 8.5k then the 'occasion' will get you to 10k. Enjoy and let us know how it goes!🙂
Entirely up to you - there will be 'faster' green runners and 'slower' green runners, so I wouldn't worry unless you are concerned you may be tempted to go off too fast in which case it is fine to drop back a wave. I think they ask you not to run in a faster wave but you can drop back. Personally, I'd stay where you are!🙂👍
Phew was hoping to be told that I wouldn't be the slowest. I can't remember what I submitted as my time originally so coulsne been waaaay off the mark for the group!
Went out yesterday to get used to the functionality of the garmin I purchased on the weekend. Seeing my heart rate is key I think to keeping a steady pace and to have appropriate walk intervals. Slow and steady as they say 👌
Hope you enjoy it - I was very tempted to travel down and run it again this year (my sister is fairly local to Bristol and we have family there) but have opted for a local 10k on Sunday instead. Look forward to your run report...and the bling!😀
You'll love it! I did it last year and thought it was a well organised, well supported, fun event. The 8.5 in trainng will get you through the 10K on race day. Don't start off too fast and just enjoy the whole atmosphere. There's music and you can dance if you feel like it 🤗
Good luck. That was my very first 10k race ( I live in Bristol). Its super flat and usually lots of crowds. The only boring bit is when you go a bit down the Portway but at least there is the suspension bridge to look at!!!
Thanks juju. It's my home town too a proper Bristol babba 😁
Have loved exploring whilst training, have found a few previously undiscovered gems along various different rounds. Not yet run down by the harbour so this too will gain a new perspective on Sunday, I'm sure!
