Oh, well done. i bet you did it in good time too, you are pretty fast. I would totally recommend the Fujirados, they really are up to rocks and roots but speedy and lightweight on tarmac, pretty water tight, and very comfortable. i would recommend trying before you buy, though, i had to go up a full size.
No, it was very slow as it was a quagmire of mud, 90% was field edges, wood or heavy grass with the only gravel bit being a hill lol. Lot of it was single file due to the conditions but I managed it in 64 mins which I felt was good going for the conditions. You do tend to get stuck behind people and just follow them a bit out of politeness as well, I didn't know that the start positions were grouped so I just slotted in 2 thirds back, I guess I must have got it about right as I didn't have to pass many and didn't get passed too much.
As I live on the edge of the fens, hills are a bit of an anathema to me and not really available to train on either. But there is one nearby and I have promised myself to train on it, but never get there. Need to do it! Thankfully all the stair climbing and legwork I do at the gym does help on the hills.
I'm admirative because I find it so hard just to run up a small hillock lol! It's actually the next step after reaching 10k for me: try and run those little earth mounds of the park... Well done and keep the good work!
Thanks Ted. I was feeling a bit flat about the running lark, doing the race seemed to help peek my interest again a bit, here's hoping it continues lol. Out for a jogette tonight, fingers crossed.
Wow, I'm in awe. a friend of mine keeps nagging me about entering another 10k or even a half marathon. I'm rather reluctant and can't even begin to think about a half marathon. Good luck and enjoy.
