10k accidently achieved.....I got lost

So I am following juju's excellent programme but have had quite a turbulent couple of weeks for other reasons. So this morning I was looking forward to my weekly long run as Sunday is the only day with no time pressures (my husband kindly shuttles kids to clubs). I was planning on my 9k but got lost on a new route.....should have gone straight on at the crossroads! But.... when I got back to known territory I was ok so thought I'd follow the end of my normal route and you'll see the result below. Feeling proud and pleased with myself....been smiling all day. 8 months since I stepped out for my first C25K and 10 months since my heart attack. I think I might just like this running lark. πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ

Thank you. The support and advice from this community has certainly been a really important part of keeping me motivated and getting me here.

Thank you. I even got a high 5 from my 15 year old for it.......which was even better than the run.

Promised my husband no marathons (or half ones) when I started this journey.......oh well he knows I can be fickle so who knows.😁

Thank you. The pace bit has been really strange as I run to a mix of music on shuffle so some runs are slow and others are quicker depending on what music I get.......although when I get some songs on one of my uphill bits I have been know to sneakily change the song.

Not too bad today but I'll run again tomorrow so will probably find out how my body really feels thenπŸ˜‚. Good luck for next weekend. I think I'm going to step back into the programme as this was not planned so I'll join you in a 9k.

Best to leave a rest day between runs especially when you've increased the distance etc.

Wow, just look at that time and pace! Brilliant - and w ithin a year of a heart attack too. You are amazing! 😊

Thank you. It's been an odd journey but has really shown me that I can achieve things for me and illness could be the start rather than the end.

Woah, good stuff! Amazing distance and pace. What a terrific achievement (and getting kudos from a 15 year old is no mean feat at all!).

Wow! You hit 18km/h at one point! I don't think I could sprint that fast over 100m! Kudos, you're a natural.
