Today I abandoned my upbeat music in favour of one of my favourite audio books - Good Omens by Pratchett and Gaiman. I felt no usual urge to look at Strava every 10 minutes. Clocked personal bests for 5k and 10k without even realising until I saved at the end. Just goes to show, you really can get lost in a good book. Pick your favourite and give it a go!

Try a good book to pass the time

That's the one book I have tried to run to so far - but I kept losing track when I got to road crossings and such! I think I am a better reader than listener...
Perhaps for running purposes a book you've already read is the right strategy? I rarely re-read, but like you I am not a good listener when it comes to audiobooks and drift off... podcasts seem the right sort of length though.

What a great choice of book too! It's definitely something worth trying. Well done on your run. 😀👍

I think I might just cry the whole way if I tried to listen to Pratchett (not least because we had the most fabulous cat we called Pratchett (blue sheeted Bengal rescue) who was killed tragically young a few months before Sir Terry died)
But maybe some days that would be therapeutic!
