I know it will keep the mentors happy but I seem to be getting slower. I'm still off my graduation pace by a fair margin. Still doing Stepping Stone which is good for technique. I might try the stamina podcast. Mrs BW has oft said I'm ok in a sprint but lack stamina. Anyway, did a bigger loop today so when I got back to the clifftop and along to home it was 6.3k which is a new best.

Certainly pre grad was more rewarding than post grad C25K. Robert Louis Stevenson said 'To travel hopefully is a better thing than to arrive'. Not sure where he was going. Slough possibly?

Ha ha 😁. No good ever came of going to Slough 😁

I absolutely love Stepping Stones podcasts, Stamina in particular. Do it! Lots! There is a solid five minute blast at the end, which you can nail if you don’t go too fast beforehand. Laura will give you the beat 🙂

Tried 'Stamina' this morning. Didn't have the stamina. Set off a bit quick though. It's amazing how your body tells your brain to want to stop. I know it's just biochemistry but sometimes it seems a huge mental effort to keep plodding on. Anyway, new distance record on Garmin (by an extra 100 yards). Calfs are killing at the moment so might try a short run next and try to get back to my graduation pace.

Yep, agree with MW that Stamina is great so give it a go. It will really help you push on with things.

I dont mind plodding at all. I think you train your brain as you run more and more. I can switch off and run mindless miles. The strange Audiofuel music actually helps that process, particularly on the Stepping Stones podcasts, it's quite weird but hypnotisingly so.

Yeah, the music has a much more defined beat. Easy to follow. I'm still waiting for it all to become easy. I'm running slower than a comatose slow loris. Could I hold a conversation? My sprightly companion asked me how I was doing about half way round. I had just enough puff for a one word answer. He didn't try and chit chat again til we finished.

Ha, you are doing the right thing BartonWalker using the stepping stones podcasts to improve your technique...You are running for you now, because you can... getting stronger and gaining stamina.

There are new goals you can set yourself which will be fun and a challenge, and you are already gaining distance...

Carry on enjoying your running...😊x

Stick with them as they work! They will bring your running on no end. When you can do the final five minutes of Stamina you’ll know you’ve cracked it 💪👍✔️😃
