Hi, I've not long completed C25K. Not knowing quite how to go forward I continued with Strava. It was useful in that I could see how far I was running , pace, and times. Unfortunately, compared with others I was rubbish! I was struggling to do 8min/k and doing only 3.8k in 30mins. Anyway I've decided I need a plan, so have just completed R1W1 of B210K and hopefully continue as a long distance plodder.

Best of luck to you! I was worried about the same thing. I think the achievement factor of c25k was so rewarding and therefor really motivating. I graduated the c25k on Sunday and just downloaded the c210k - I'll be starting it tonight! Happy running. :)

Well done you.... and please please do not stress about your pace, pace is overrated!!! We are all different and we all have different goals. I'm also on Strava and I use it like social media and to share my love of running rather than focus on the stats, although I do enjoy looking at the stats for other reasons!!! So enjoy the journey to 10k and if you are interested I did a 6 week programme which you will find in the pinned posts.... if you want to follow me on Strava I'm julia dallyn... and I will be delighted to encourage you on your 10k journey 😎

75% of your running should be at an easy pace. If you push with every run you are not being most effective at building stamina and muscle.

We are not all built for speed. All my best runs have been to run at an easy pace in beautiful surroundings.

Whoa, hey, hang on a minute! First of all, congrats for graduating :) Secondly, what's wrong with 8min/km? There is always someone who is faster than you and you are never rubbish. All runs are good and teach us something - even if it's not to go out dehydrated, unprepared and hungover *ahem* Seriously, though, I'm guessing that if you have just graduated you haven't been running for very long, so take some time to consolidate and get the miles on your legs. Pace can - and will - come later, if you want it to, but truly some of us (me!) just aren't built for speed. It doesn't matter. Yes, I'd like to speed up a bit and I can work on that after my next event, but at the moment I am focusing on distance. For now, welcome to this community, and enjoy your running :)

Thanks Annie. Yes, your right. I , like yourself, enjoy the running more than the competing. Some of those I have observed doing faster pace have not been running long, and not building up with the help of something like C25K. They will soon ,I'm sure, suffer an injury. Over the years I've dipped in and out of the running scene, and not having a plan I did suffer various strain injuries. So far at least, because I've followed C25K and now B210K I've had no injuries at all.

Not what you're looking for?
