Hello! So I completely C25K a couple of weeks ago and am doing between 5-6K 3x a week still, but my question is Saturday I am going in for my gallbladder removal surgery - anyone had an op during this time? Any advice on how to build back up when ready? I'm terrified of being back where I started!
Thanks!

I have not run for 4 months after my last 2 hour 23 mins half marathon - and I will be repeating C25K if and when my foot injury heals. I know how you feel to be disappointed - but as with anything, time heals all eventually. I am now in a place where I no longer mind my misfortune and and actually looking forward to starting over if or when I am able to Right now , your surgery is the most important thing you have to be concerned about
Get some advice from the medics about when you can start running again. Take their advice if they recommend rest and then walking for a certain time. As if they suggest something other than running to start with. Then take it easy and don't push yourself too hard once you can run.
You don't say what your fitness level was before you started running, but you could do a C25K W1R1 and if that's very easy then next time you go out do W2R1 and so on until you feel you need to repeat some runs to do the whole week or reach W5. W5 onwards almost certainly should be completed in full and before you know it you'll be back to running 3x 30 minutes.
Surgery will take time to recover from, but there's plenty of time ahead for running.
