I don't know whether it was the new Brooks, the snazzy colour-coordinated outfit or the fact that I was running on the road instead of trails - but I smashed it tonight. Fastest 5k to date and fastest 10k by almost 12 minutes, despite two idiot motorists stopping me to ask for directions.

Even Mr Gabby has conceded that the new footwear was a worthwhile investment! 👟👟👟👟

Will do, thanks. They're faster than my Asics but still slower than a drunken snail in treacle 🐌 - I suspect the improved time had more to do with the absence of the several dozen gates, stiles, tree roots, yappy dogs and other obstacles I contend with on my usual route!

Drunken snail in treacle!! I love it!! I just got some new Brooks too. I'm no faster but my knees and ankles feel a lot better!

Which ones did you get? I'm thrilled with these. They didn't feel as comfy as my Asics when I first put them on but they are great to run in.
