Sorry you have injured your calf - obviously we can't give medical advise and/or comment on the severity of your injury so if it doesn't improve in a couple of days or starts to feel worse I would see your gp. Rest, ice and elevate but most of all don't try and run on it until you feel pain free. When you do run, take it easy just to make sure it is ok - you don't want to cause further injury by doing too much too soon. The reality is, things like this happen and training doesn't always go to plan. Being patient for a few days now and allowing yourself time to heal could prevent extended time on the injury couch later. Good luck🙂
If you try and run on it and it hurts then you will have to rest. Calves usually protest loudly straight away. It could be just new runner's niggle but we can't know for sure
If it's an injury the pain could be immediate and intense, like a searing pain. I had that and it took weeks to heal, with no running
Trying to get to see my Dr is like trying to get an audience with the Queen!!!!
I tore a muscle doing C25k last year and hAd 12 weeks off. Started again and got thorough it injury free but it still flares up from time to time. I've had a LOT of time on the injury couch and am still embedding the running 5k three times a week. I would say rest up!
