Finally ran 5K and other small miracles.

At Graduation I was barely hitting 4.25 Kms in 30 minutes and struggled to beat 7 minute km. Today I ran 5k in 32 minutes and my first Km was 6:14, my slowest 6:55... My last was 6:34! (I'm also carrying 40-50lbs of extra weight)

I still hate it, except for the afterglow and shower, but I've come this far, I'm not quitting now! For all of you half way through the program, just keep on keeping on, you can so do this!!

Wow that is super fast, I graduated a year ago and my fastest ever 5k has been 34 minutes! I'm sort of happy to go at a comfortable speed as I have aimed to increase distances and now do 2 x 5k plus a 10k a week. My very comfortable pace is 7.30 mins per km. mind you my legs are super happy with this

Wow, what a brilliant time! Still trying to get under 35m for 5k, and like JoolieB my 'natural' comfy pace at the moment is 7.30min per km - find I get stuck in it if I'm not careful. But as I'm now on Ju-ju's 6wks to 10k plan, I'm not too fussed at the moment.

Really well done. Just bear in mind though that not every run has to be (or should be) fast. Pushing yourself to your limit too often will likely become tiresome and increases the risk of injury.

Slow, easy runs are good and will have you in better shape when you do want to 'go for it'.

To be honest I didn't set out with a faster pace in mind, it has just been happening gradually over the past few weeks that it's picked up. I'm not ambitious enough to make myself run faster consciously. But thanks for the heads up either way.
