The grumplies have their uses...

I ran early yesterday morning, a short run, feeling distinctly out of sorts :( Hence the grumplies!

I needed to get rid of those negative emotions, quickly, as a day out with LMTB ( Little mum to be) beckoned.. and I needed the smiles back.

I decided on a very short run, fast as I could, to leave those pests behind. So, the obligatory warm up and then a run down into the village , up, ( yes, up), the lane into the first field and back down to the station. Did it, 3 K in 17 minutes and 30 seconds.

Grumplies left reeling, on the, very fast,( for me) run down the field... I startled a man, with a dog, who I had never seen before..( him or the dog). Not sure if it was the lightning speed, :) or the inane grin I was wearing at this point.

Walked home, inner Flossness restored. Thanks grumplies! :)

Sometimes when we run away from stuff, we end up running into something really great ! :)

PS

You are doing a great job keeping those pesky s******* away too...( shall not mention them in case they appear :) Hope Realfoodieclub 's day is going well too.. she is going to be very tired!!!

It was too hot to run yesterday (over 30C) and I also felt there were a lot of grumplies about. So I walked back home after work. 9k, solid, angry, working off my frustration, not really interacting with my world, just concentrating on walking. I was absolutely drenched with sweat, aware that I had nothing to drink with me and I was pushing it a bit, but I needed it. Cheered up a bit afterwards. Still too hot to run again today, really humid and oppressive, our afternoon walk was more than enough. There's no way I could run. But there's a storm coming up, so it might cool down. And it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Exercise is a good way of dealing with the grumplies.

I love that word - Grumplies. Aw floss I'm sorry to read that you were feeling out of sorts. I know, some days are just harder than others and our thoughts catch up with us ☹️. But it sounds as if you chased away those Grumplies big time what with the speedy 🏃 run and the day out 🎉. Sending you lots of xxx

Funny, I was the same today. Did 10K on wed and think the longer distances were daunting me before I started. Really wasn't feeling the love this morning. Friend suggested I did a shorter 5K but make it count. I did! Fast (for me) in 35 mins, then still felt okay so turned my tracker off and slowed down to do another 2K. Felt great after, love returned. Need to do 10 on wed again, week before my 10K race for life. Yikes!

It is nice to slow down and look at the cows in the fields etc. Found myself getting annoyed with traffic noise. Need to run near the beach or find some tow paths I think.

I did! Thanks you...It was one of those special Mum and small person times :)

We always had odd words in our family... but they brighten life up generally and you can use them, as you say because they totally can sum up feelings! :) (

( I even have some that are very very useful for when I am very cross about something! ) :)
