24 degrees, 9 hours at work, 2 hours sleep and not run for nearly a week!!!
Must be mad 😡 mad as a box of frogs, or a march hare or even a hatter but one thing I do know is I needed that run.
Dead on my feet, mouth throbbing, Willow didn’t want to run, i don’t blame him.
Chicken in oven, headphones on, NRC HM plan 10 weeks to go, recovery run set up and Cat Stevens singing away at a song I don’t remember. Tea, too hot I’ll drink it when i get back.
And off out the door, Coach B thinks I’m running so I better run, no warm up walk so a very slow first kilometre to get those legs moving.
Sun shining down, not many people about, head slightly upwards and soon I can see the downs, sparkling green with the sun making them look all lit up.
Get to the end of the road, turn right and the path levels out, right again and slightly down, Coach B encouraging every couple of minutes and Cat singing along in between. What more could an old girl want? I started to feel happy again, see, I knew I needed this run even though really tired.
Run gently through the streets, looking at flowers blooming in gardens, smiling at the people I passed, sang along to Morning has broken and realise Cat Stevens is just what I need. 30 minutes up, keep going for another minute, 3k ran and a short walk home.
Tea cool, drink it down, step into the shower to the aroma of roast chicken and crispy bacon, we are having that with salad so easy food.
Run or rest happy all…… that really was just what I needed, cleared my head and stretched my legs 😀
