We have been to the UK many times - and have loved the UK countryside ( can do without most of the big cities ) Mostly we have visited in Spring - as we love the feel of the place then - lots of new growth , flowers, etc - still nice and cool ( we don't come to UK for summer "heat" , we get enough of that here!!)
I think that another visit next Spring will probably be (unfortunately) our last - but this time - I AM A RUNNER!!!!! So - a parkrun will definitely be on the cards and probably Bushy Park will certainly have to feature there , but we will be there long enough to do maybe a couple more - and maybe a longer race ( say 10K )
What "memorable for ever" runs could I do???

Hmm - don't like the idea of that "catcher car" much!! I would have 50 minutes to do 5K ( that is EASY!) - but only 1hour 10 minutes for 10K ( I have done that in the past ) - but only 1hr 52min for 21K ( that is not possible for me!! )
i'd recommend druridge bay 10K lovely scenic seascape route in northumberland - multi terrain some road some track and some sand. Not a huge number of runners and a real mix of runners. some nice places to visit too in Alnwick and surrounding area. Bamborough castle and farn islands are great.
Last weekend of May next year sees Liverpool Rock n Roll races on the west and the Edinburgh Marathon festival up north. I believe you get 5k, 10k, half and marathon choices at both- certainly Edinburgh anyway.
Must mention Rock and Roll Liverpool weekend, on Saturday 27th May 5k run and on Sunday choice of Half or full Marathon in morning and mile in afternoon. The medals are amazing, I plan to do the 5k & my first half marathon next year. If you do one of their world series there is extra bling to collect. Fabulous weekend and you see the sights of Liverpool.
Bushy Park is Awesome, but maybe you have been there before? Ive run it a number of times, lovely views being a Royal park with some deer and a great water fountain with a gold statue of the goddess Diana in the centre. The Parkrun is great with just 1 lap on mostly tarmac, and there can be about 1000 runners, and with a good cafe for afterwards, that do a mean bacon roll!😊
