...but sometimes it's all ok :o)

I'm writing this from a hotel room in Birmingham, I'm away with my daughter at a "supernatural" convention, the idea is that she'll go and mingle with fellow fans whilst I try and unwind a bit* after the latest restructuring at work.

I brought my trainers but my knee has been so painful it's felt dislocated, difficulty bending it, feels bruised, wasn't sure if I'd be able to drive etc. Anyway, I thought I'd try it out at the hotel gym and it was fine, so then went for a run outside and it was still fine so finished off with a swim / sauna session.

Now I'm back in the hotel room it feels fine, looser, not so swollen..!? So my advice to anyone else with a painful knee is just try it out, you might be surprised**

*Drink

Hi Pam - I'm glad you had a good run! It seems to me that the swim/sauna afterwards might have been the key in helping your knee to feel better.

I hope you enjoyed your "unwinding" as well. Was it white, red, or fizzy? ;-)

Thank you, I'm aiming for all of the above before the end of the weekend 😉

Well done Pam glad your run went well and your knee is feeling better ☺

Brilliant Pam.. great post...  So wish I was with your daughter though!!!!!!!!!!

Your knee sounds to be mending nicely.. and mine seems fine, even after my 7K yesterday.

It is just a matter of listening to your body... before a drink, sensibly :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Glad you are taking all necessary medicinal (alcoholic) remedies.

in reply to Celtprof

It may not be the cure but at least it'll help with the pain 😁

Hi Pam glad it went well for you and the Knee seems to be ok,the change of seen and swim helped I guess .Hope the unwinding is going well and whatever colour the content of the bottle is that  it's going down well.

in reply to Butchdingle

It's bottles, plural 😣 How's your knee doing?

Bottles 😀 Like the style, knee ain't great was hoping it would be ok by now but it ain't so may be having a trip to my GP soon.

in reply to Butchdingle

I don't know about style, if she spends any more of my money I'll be drinking Asda's finest paint stripper....!

Let me know how you get on? Those stretches in the running world article helped my knee, I know it's frustrating in the meantime x

Glad the knee is good Pam but I'm very interested in your daughter's "supernatural convention"!  That sounds right up my street. Never knew such things existed * tootles off to google *. At least now if there's a masked killer in the hotel you can run away from him. 👻👽💀

rogueevent.co.uk/wordpress/... She's having a ball, bless and came back to the room at midnight last night :o)

I thought about you today actually; there's a Nike outlet store next to the NEC and I tried to get some of your lovely blue trainers, but they didn't have the same colour :o(

It's a pity the Ripper one is cancelled as I'm fascinated by all things Ripper. I got the shoes online from Prodirect so might be worth a look.  Did you buy anything else? I love those Nike outlets - they're lethal.

Goodness, the Supernatural Convention! I took my daughter and her friend to that a couple of years ago. They had a whale of a time fan-girling at the actors and mixing with similarly obsessed fans. Must admit I didn't get much out of it because I'd never seen the show, but, as you say, there was the gym and sauna to distract me. 😀

Edit: Forgot to say, good news about the knee :)

in reply to AncientMum

It's bonkers isn't it? I'm sure I was the same at her age though; I'm sure if I'd ever met any of the cast of Blakes 7 or Battlestar Gallactica I'd have been fangirling too :o)
