Is anyone coming to the winter run in London with guests? I've just seen the size of the bag we can use for bag drop and I'm not sure I can get my clothes etc and chocolate cake in it. Obviously I will try but if any one is going with guests that could look after the chocolate cake that would be a great help. I could pass it over before the start of the event.

Have you had your bag already? I thought they were only being sent out later this week/next week? Can't help I'm afraid. Will have to leave my overnight bag in hotel and travel light to the race myself. Hopefully someone will be able to guard the cake :-)

No I havent yet but on an email I got they said it was very strict and I saw the size of the bags on the photo from last year. I will find a way. Looking forward to meeting up.

It's 16ins by 17 ins if that's any help. Presuming it's the same size as last year! You would need a cake tin that's not too wide! 😆

Thanks for that, I will try and work around it. Thin base layers to change into will help.

Sorry, can't help either. Am hoping it won't be too cold and I can get away with just my jacket and oyster card.

Mmm - much as I love fresh snow, even walking on ice scares me. See you on the 31st

Weather report from London - it's turned chilly, 5 degrees past few days, but there's no chance of ice it's so mild here. Lots of luck for all the planning :)

Sorry to go slightly off topic, (and I'm not sure what the race packs contained last year), but I received my race pack for Liverpool the other day and there was no bag included.

Just the bib number, and a letter to say that all the info needed is on the website! How helpful :D

I don't even think you get a tshirt at the end anymore (I think everyone received one last year? But I could be wrong!). Just a drink and the medal. Unless you raise over £200 for Cancer Research, in which case you *do* get a tshirt.

Bit of a swizz if you ask me, considering the entry price! *grumble*

Still looking forward to it though, even if it's looking like it might be V cold, -1C forecast at the moment :O

I just got an mail yesterday saying that bag drop will I only take the bags they provide. I thinks that's a bit rich considering how cold it is and how you will want to change into warmer clothes that can be a bit bulkier. I'm used to doing vitality events and they have a massive space for bag drop so it came as quite a shock. I will update and retract my statement if I get a massive bag to work with😃. its cold here today just come in from a training session and had to ring the door bell to get my other half to answer the door as my fingers couldn't use my keys they were so cold. Brrrrrrr.

I think they must provide you with one on the day maybe? Which is a bit silly hey?! I dunno, maybe it will be different for the Londoners! :D

Will give you all the lowdown on what happens in Scouseland but I'm sure someone must be able to help you out re the cake - it is very important after all!

We only got a small bag last year, and no t shirt, just the medal. Am definitely going to do the donate clothes thing because last year was freezing waiting around. think I need to leave a bag at left luggage at station as need to head back north after run.

C u on 31st

My other half might be able to help, not 100% she's going to come to watch yet though as it all depends on the weather. Plus she's going to have to come watch me in April in London, guess watching runners all day on your own can get a bit boring (if you're a non-runner that is!)

All watchers of the chocolate cake are allowed to eat some, if that helps any😃. I watched it last year and it's quite a nice one to watch as there are loads of cafes near by and I went to the portrait gallery inbetween to get warm and use their loos and have a look at the paintings.

Hello, I did think with this colder weather I may have to take something warm to put on after. Depending on the size of the bags I could possibly meet you beforehand and try to put 2 lots of clothing in one bag.

Ohhh that sounds good too. Options coming in looks like the chocolate cake will still be a go.
