I have just signed up for my first 10k run !! The Manchester winter run on February 28th (at least I will have some hope of not overheating) !! The furthest that I have run is 4 miles so I will work on gradually increasing my distance. Any other Healthunlocked folk doing the Manchester run ??

Well done!! I'm entered for the London event and that will be my 3rd go at a 10km race. I think there's one in Liverpool as well isn't there? London is the closest for me as I live in Kent. I'm looking forward to it - a great incentive to keep on running during the dark winter mornings & evenings. You've got plenty of time build up your distance in time for your big day. Good luck!

Hi Girly , Well done you, its great to have a goal to work to !

I have been looking at this one too ! Looks good !

My priority when I get paid is entering the GMR in May but if I can afford it before Christmas I will enter this one . Its already sold out of the Early bird tickets hasnt it ? I think it is going to be a very popular one this one, so I will have to keep my fingers crossed that it isnt full .

You have got loads of time to get up to 10k, I really wouldnt worry too much . I did the GMR in May this year and that was the first time I did 10k as I had been injured for weeks ! I managed to get round, you just get swept along with the atmosphere and the support, it was amazing .

Good Luck ! :-) xxx

Thanks Poppy, that's right, the early bird entries have finished. Hopefully you can do both the GMR and the winter run. Best of luck with your running. Looking forward to it (nervously) !! xxx

How exciting! I loved the look of the London winter run but unfortunately won't be up to 10k by the end of January. Good luck with yours though!😀👍

Good luck with that 10K in Feb. Don't worry...you have plenty of time to increase your distance. The fun of the day will easily gobble up 2K without you even noticing! I'm doing the London Winter Run in Jan and am really looking forward to that. The last one was BRILLIANT! (but cold - so wrap up!)
