I am sorry to say this, but I can see a communication gap between you and your doctor. I have following steps to tell you:
1. Read up on Google about ER, PR and CerbB2. There are many good sites on the first search page you will find.
2. Next, you meet your Oncologist and discuss it out. Ask him the split us of cost, ask him about Herceptin and everything.
Remember, the best person to solve your queries is your own oncologist. The reason is that, he will know your mother in detail, her stage in detail and her entire history. Cancer treatment is very individualized and cannot be planned by seeing a few reports. If I were to genuinely answer your question, it would take me to type a minimum of about 5 to 6 full pages in Microsoft Word, not a page less. we always appreciate, if a person has done a bit of reading on Google or at least, has gone through the questions others have asked on this forum.
So I suggest you see your doctor and just ask him what the 9 Lakhs is about. Then, after understanding that, if doubts persist, please ask us and that is the time, we can guide you.
