I'm 38 from Worcester. Husband. Two year old amazing daughter. Finished chemo last month, had surgery (lumpectomy only) couple weeks ago and due to start radiotherapy next month. I feel like I'm coming to the end of my journey and worried I've not connected with any other people locally in similar circumstances to keep in contact with. Anyone here from Worcester want to chat? Xx

Welcome Rosie2016. This is a wonderful place for a virtual (is that the right word?) chat but If you want a personal get-together chat, hopefully there will be soneone out there who lives more locally to you. Also a similar age would be good. I am about an hour away in Kenikworth.

Do you have a cancer support group near you? Your breast care nurse should be able to tell you. Do keep coming back here with your questions or worries and someone will be here to help. Good luck with your search and all the best with the rest of your treatment and journey xx

I'm in Birmingham and finished all my treatment in April. My hospital ran a group for women finishing treatment, which they do several times a year, so your hospital may offer something similar. Best wishes to you xxx

No they don't, it's not big enough to do anything and there is a group but they are a lot older than me.

Yep you said it. I'm impatient at getting the post every day to find out dates for my radiotherapy because I want my life back now lol.

Good luck Rosie. Hope you can find a group with younger women x

Hi Rosie, i was diagnosed last year aged 34 but i had mastectomy chemo, herceptin, radiotherapy which ended march and is a breeze, nothing to worry about and on my last session i felt like i'd scored a winning goal at Wembley, i was 😂 elated!

I'm very aware of always being the youngest when i had treatment or going for appointments.

Good luck with radiotherapy, not that you need it! Xx

Hi Rosie my name is Helen and I'm 49 and live in bromsgrove. I was diagnosed in august 2014 started my chemo in the September and had a lumpectomy in February, unfortunately my margins weren't clear so had to havea mastectomy with immediate reconstruction and then went on to have radiotherapy. I found great support in bosom friends which is a support group ran by the breast care nurses at the Alex in Redditch, it has been good speaking to other people in the same boat as myself, I have gone on to do two fashion shows with the group which was great fun and gave me the confidence I really needed. If you need to chat let me know xx
