Just wondering how many other people have had the red devil chemotherapy treatment. I had it and it probably saved my life but I did not realize the potential problems it would pose me in the long term. I do not however regret having it and I am grateful to be still here with no breast cancer.
The red devil chemotherapy: Just... - My Breast Cancer ...
The red devil chemotherapy
Hi Mathematics, three years ago, I congratulated you on 10 years mark. I am now heading for my 5 years on Letrozole.
On the red devil which I had too in 2019/2020, I have started to have swollen feet since Dec 2023. ECG reveals nothing, neither urology tests and US. I am going to have ECHO in July to find out if any heart issue due to the fact of red devil and radio as mine is left side.
Thank you for your reply. I started having swollen feet after the chemo and it has just stopped happening now although sometimes they still swell up in the evenings. My left breast was also where I had the cancer and I had all my lymph nodes removed on the left side as well. When I queried my problems with the doctor as I was getting breathless as well as swollen feet the doctor just said it was bad circulation for my legs. I did pay privately to see someone about my breathlessness and he checked me out thoroughly on the nhs and my heart and lungs were in pretty good shape thank goodness except I had scarring on my lungs and some nodules but nothing to worry about. I have found my breathlessness has gone so it may have been caused by the letrozole, which I have now finished and my feet do not swell up hardly at all now. I do get neuropathy in my hands and feet however this is not as bad as at one time it felt as if I was walking on two wooden peg legs. All the best and I hope your Echo goes well and you remain cancer clear.
I did have that along with another chemo med at the same time followed by Taxol in 2021. The long term effects are uncomfortable at times for sure. You are not alone. Hang in there. Hope they resolve for you soon
