I am diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer. I am around 62 yrs old with HER2/ER/PR positive. There is no spread of virus except for few LN near collar bone. Dr. recommended Total Mastectomy(done) then 4xAC every 3Wkly + 12xPaclitaxel every wkly along with Herceptin every three week with radiation in parallel with chemo therapy.
Please suggest if there is better way of treatment and various medicine brand for AC(not sure of full name) ,taxol and herceptin. Also need guidance on food that help in eliminating cancer virus keeping diabetic type 2(well in control) in mind.

I was treated at MD Anderson and was HER2-/ER PR+. I did the same treatment you will get but no Herceptin since I was HER2-. It’s been 2 years now and all is well. I feel so grateful that it’s a “tried and true” protocol with many years of success. Good luck.
Really sad to hear of your diagnosis, its so horrible. As pegomh says, you seem to be on the tried and trusted treatment plan and hopefully this wil do to the trick. Not an easy treatment regimen so be kind to yourself and rest when you need to. i dont have any specific diet tips but the general message seems to be eat healthy, lots of fresh fruit and veg, reduce your red meat and alcohol intake. The treatment does affect your appetite, tastebuds go haywire and it can be difficult to eat much at some points. Best of luck with the treatment and recovery Caroline xx
Kanhaiya2, Diabetic type 2 and steroids are a real downfall on your control, they are needed for chemo, you will need extra help with the diabetic nurse. Not appointments but phonecalls, there was a type of district diabetic nurse that monitored my steroid days and increased insulin (uk). I was only on tablets, its now with insulin, now with extra tablets. Your treatment plan is different to mine, so no comments tp help there but I got more stressed by the diabetic hypergycemic headaches, fuzzy eyes and no sleep. Its doable but take things easy. Diet has to be with a caution as with everthing else...they will guide you through the process and chemo nurses are available by phone too.
This is a stressfull time...the unknown...we all react differently...so the plan isnt set in stone...it can be tweeked if you have problems.
The care package may fail more in some areas, I did travel 40miles to a hispital of ex
Read...hospital of excellance, local ones were failing. It isnt easy, very scary but hopefully does the trick, we do anything not to get it back, we are stronger than we think and find ways to rest. I read many books tagged as series. For a light read check out c j Archer downloads to distract from the trauma. x
